 I recently shared the instructions for a simple gatefold card (June 22) which we created in a class earlier this year. This is the same layout but switched up to purple tones using the Painted Lavender stampset. Version One. Version Two. Here's the dimensions for this card. At my recent Card Class for February 2024, we used the gorgeous papers from the Perennial Lavender suite. The papers are so pretty. They really lend themselves to being the star of the show, with minimal embellishment needed. And with this large (5 1/2" square) card you get to see a large piece of the beautiful designs. This square Easel card is a real eye catcher. I had the incorrect measurements on the slide at the class (oops!) - but I've corrected it now to the above. Sorry for those people who photographed the slide with the error Cardstock is                          5 1/2" x 11, scored at 5 1/2", and the diagonal fold line DSP x2 patterned pieces cut at 5 1/4" square  ( not 5 7/8" - that was the squash fold card ) White cardstock x1           cut at 5 1/4" square. Stampin Up! produces such beautiful papers it is sometimes hard to cut them up.  But a good design that lets the paper shine is always fun. I created this card last year but didn't get around to sharing here - although I did have a reel on Instagram in March using one of last years Sale-A-Bration papers. So now I have both made and photographed this version. You can add elements to stand out on the folds, but I think the paper has enough interest to just let it shine - less is more , I think. This design works really well for full sheets with a design that spreads across the page. The Perennial Lavender has one of those sheets - and you can get two cards like this from each sheet. Trim your DSP to 14.3cm height x 10 inches long ( sorry I mix my measurements ) Score the DSP at 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 inches. Burnish the folds and glue the 2" panels to the inside of your folded cardbase - that's it. And this is last years design. I sent this to my Aunt for her birthday which is this ...

  Well a New Year  brings a new set of stamps and tools to play with - and after a little break some new energy to create. I have had a lovely day in the craft room preparing for my upcoming class in February where we will be using the Painted Lavender stampset. This Split Front Card is an old card design but it was a fun way to use some of the beautiful new papers. The new products include some Paper Butterfly Elements which are white and so can be easily coloured to suit your project. I've used both Orchid Oasis and Starry Sky to colour this one. I have lots more ideas - just need some more time to play!! What's your favourite new products from the catalogue?  Do you need a copy of your own? Well..... 2023 was...... a big year  and here it is 2024 already.   I've had a little de-tox from social media and cardmaking but thought now would be a good time to jump back in and share in this colour challenge. This is one of the four or five cards I created for Colour INKspiration challenges but never got around to photographing and sharing in 2023....   Definitely not a Christmas card , but the colour palette is so light and soft and lovely. picture credit  https://akailochiclife.com/218/11/diy-snow-dotted-cone-trees.html My card uses one of the new sets in the January Mini - Painted Lavender  -it is an image only set with no sentiments. I love it. We'll be using this in my February class. I used the Baby Wipe Technique and loaded Bubble Bath and Flirty Flamingo inks onto a babywipe and used that as my inkpad for the floral sprays.  I did add some more sparkle after I took the photo.
