Colour INKspirtion #25 a New Year and New Toys

Welcome to the First 2015 blog for Colour INKspiration, I hope your Christmas and New Year have been amazing.  We start the year with a bright fresh colour palette. And I started the year needing a thankyou card or 2 - so I pulled out my minitreat thinlits set and made one using new paper and stamps, and one using older paper and stamps. Here they are both side by side.   I'm still not totally sold on Lemon Lime Twist as a colour although it is used very widely. Perhaps it just doesn't photograph very well. I prefer the cardstock once it is sponged with the same ink to give that deeper more intense colour. So that is what I have done to the leaf spray ( the second spray is cut from DSP)  Both the DSP and the ribbon and sequins used in this project are new in the Tutti-frutti Suite. The paper is a cute little 6x6 stack with geometric type designs on one side and fruit patterns on the reverse. The Sequins are already self adhesive and come in a range of c...

CTC Fabulous Hostess Sets!

Hello and Happy Easter to you. I hope you have had a nice weekend - and not too much chocolate- (Is there even such a thing?) We have 2 of our 3 children home for a few days which is just so nice. This week we are CASEing from the Hostess section of the catalogue. While I haven't used a specific card for my inspiration I thought I would show you a couple of projects which I made for the  Onstage April 2016 when I was lucky enough to be selected as a display stamper. Fabulous Flora is one of the sets that they sent me to trial. I never did get around to writing all of them up !!!  These cards are monotone highlighting Emerald Envy. For the first card I used the fig image but I  only stamped the leaves along the top edges of a whisper white panel and coloured them with my aqua painter. I fussy cut a few extra leaves, curled and mounted them and gave them a wink of Stella treatment! I also used the Scoreboard to add a few details with some straight score...

CI05 A Pastel Palette for a Globe

Welcome back for another week at Colour INKspiration with this gorgeous Pastel Palette. I do love Soft Sky and Sahara Sand but I'm going to have to be honest ..... I've never really loved Blushing Bride (I'm in a minority here!) - so it was easy for me to start with the blue and brown and add the pink as an accent. I watercoloured the background then heat embossed the leaf wreath from "Places You'll Go" in copper and coloured the leaves with the Soft Sky Marker. I stitched a short piece of Soft Sky Seam Binding in place and layered up a little love note from the Lift Me Up set, some copper metallic thread and some blushing Bride Glimmer Paper which I cut using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. The little enamel dots are from the retired subtles set but I added a little sparkle with some wink of stella on each of them. I love the depth of colour you can get using the ink neat rather than from the foam pad. . I was quite happy with the overal...
