  There are several great techniques using White Pigment Ink. I hope you give some of these techniques a try. So this is a bit of a different approach to Emboss Resist. Often it is done with White, or Metallic , or Black and then coloured ink is blended over the embossing to make the stamped image jump forward. ( usually on a neutral cardbase ) This technique uses a different approach. Step 1. I stamped the leaves (from Changing Leaves) with Versamark and then used Clear Embossing Powder. Offset stamping is very easy, and has a great effect.  Simply stamp your image in the White Pigment Ink.  Wait for it to dry completely, then stamp the same image in a strong colour but moved only slightly to one side. This gives a great shadow effect. This one probably could have been closer together, but it looks ok once it's made into a card. I used the fabulous Changing Leaves stampset for these cards. I love the clean lines in this image. The 3D Hybrid folder is pretty clever to emboss the leaves and cut them at the same time. "don...

Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy, Gray Granite, and Pebbled Path. I hope you give some of these techniques a try. The Bokeh Technique is used to create a soft out of focus background which is similar to a photography where the light is in small circles. With White ink you can create this look by using a mask and sponging the white ink in circles. I use a piece of perspex and have cut 3 circles of different sizes. First take a background piece of card - this could be white or coloured - and apply coloured ink in patches. I used a blending brush and applied 2 blues and basic beige to a piece of beige cardstock to cover the whole piece. Then take your mask and ...

I hope you give some of these techniques a try. Painting with the  White Pigment Ink  gives a really pretty effect, especially when you use different colours of card as your base. I love the effect on Crumb Cake. In this sample I have not added any additional colour. I love the effect. In this one I again painted with colour after the white had dried and layered it up with some texture  and layers to create a twisted easel card. I hope you give some of these techniques a try. Painting with the White Pigment Ink gives a really pretty effect, especially when you use different colours of card as your base. I love the effect on Crumb Cake and this one on Pebbled Path. The ink is water based so it is simply a matter of diluting the ink with a few drops of water on a palette ( I use a stamping block or my silicone mat) and painting with a small paint brush. You need to allow the ink to dry completely, and it will fade a little as it dries so you can add more white to increase the intensity to the desired level as desired. B...

This great challenge is open for 3 weeks so even though I am slow out of the blocks you still have 1 week to create your own project and share it with us. It has been great seeing what colour palettes appeal to different designers. Choosing only 3 colours is tricky! This challenge is open for us to choose our 3 favourite colours. I love greens, and blues and these are often my go to colours, but I always love Navy and Hot Pink and a bright Green together, so for this card I have used  This technique is one we used at a recent demonstration day where I focused on using White Pigment Ink . It's a beautiful technique where I stamped the line image in White Ink and heat embossed with White Powder to establish the background. In this case this was done on Crumb Cake cardstock. Then you need to use the white ink and paint the image white. It's water based ink so you simply paint with water and a fine paintbrush. You get a beautiful effect on coloured cardstock and I did a few samples...

My last post was for Bronwyn's 60th Birthday using tropical colours. I had these colours on my desk and used them for a few other cards.  I was inspired by Cindy Schuster in a tutorial she shared recently ( The Crafty Carrot Collective Aug 22) using the torn paper technique. It's perfect for many occasions and these are great for men and women.  It's easy and fun- and you get 2 cards from the one activity- bonus. select 5 or 6 colours and cut cardstock to                       4" x 2 1/2" prepare two base pieces of plain thin Cardstock         4" x 3 1/4" Tear the strips in half gently "lifting" the card to create the rough torn edge. Adhere the layers using strong adhesive like stampin' seal, layering each piece in around 1/2" increments. Use the largest circle die to cut your shape. You may need to run it through twice and finish the cut with paper snips as it will be tricky to cut thro...

It's been a little while since SU had a mini flower punch so I am so pleased to see one incorporated into the Strawberry Builder Punch.  It is a lovely shape and t coordinates with the flower in the Sweet Strawberry stampset but has multiple uses with plain or printed card or paper. Playing with new products is always fun, and I like to try and create some cards a little different from the suite- different colours and papers and uses. I used some of the gorgeous DSP from the Sand and Seas suite and my favourite card base Sahara Sand. I initially stamped the card base and most of the photos are of that version but in the end I decided it was a bit busy so I cut up the first version and remade it with a plain base -as above. The strawberry builder punch has the super cute little flower. The Calyx stamp can be snipped to create 2 sets of 2 leaves as well.
