Lillybet's Papers

Yesterday I posted the mason jar woodworker's version, today is the BBQ chef version. I've used the fabulous Mason Jar Punch and coordinating Shaker Domes, and paired it with the Gilded Autumn specialty Designer Series Paper. Some (retired) copper washi tape to look like the screw top lid and a colourful mix of spices. I think all Dads think themselves pretty handy in the chef department, so these should be broadly appropriate. I filled the jars with Star Anise, Cardamom Pods, Coriander seeds and Chilli flakes. The handy kebab image is from the recently retired Outdoor BBQ set. After I photographed this card I added the sentiment from Strong and Beautiful which says "You're amazing and that's a fact" I made a few versions of this style using some retired paper ( making room for new things to come....) and another great retired set for Chefs -  Perfect Mix. How do you really say thankyou to your Dad? It's a tough one.  But hopefully one of these will bring a smile to my Dad's face.  I have been having lots of fun creating some cards for Father's Day to stock at Our Shop. I did see another card somewhere which sparked the idea for the woodworker's card but I can't find the original to give credit, but I want to thank you for your brilliant idea. I've had lots of fun creating these. I don't know anything about screws, and a real woodworker would probably not put these 2 different types together but I'm OK with the mix! My Dad's workshop did have rows of jars and the lids were all screwed to the underside of a shelf- a space saving tip that he was quite proud of. It's sometimes not easy to come up with masculine cards but at class last weekend we focused on Father's Day and embossing paste techniques. These are 2 of the cards we made on Saturday. The Foil Frenzy  kraft DSP is sp bright and fun. I've also used images from one of my current faves- Bookcase Builder ( If you follow me you will have seen other Father's Day cards here). I've also used the Badges and Banners set whcih is one of those sets which I have used way more than I would have predicted - love a matching punch and stamp. Sneak Peak also of the fabulous leaf image and matching punch from the coming Sunflower Set. This is my colour Palette. Hello and welcome back for another week of inspiration from the Catalogue. This week we are using pages 102-111. Have you ever seen a set in the catalogue that was a "Must Have" item which you find hard to use once you have it in your hands?? The Bookcase Builder set was one of those for me. But I am happy that thanks to CTC now that I have had it out I am much more comfortable with it. I challenged myself to CASE the card on page 105 and see what I could come up with. I even managed to get some Father's Day cards done as well. It is quite a versatile set once you get going with it. I love that you can stamp the images individually or put them all on a block to stamp backgrounds in a hurry. I sold all my baby girl cards at last week's markets so need a few to replenish my stash.
