#onstage2018 Needlepoint Nook samples #6

Well I think this may be nearing the end of my stage samples - but I have created quite a few more and will have some to post to my Pinterest board soon. This final set is a great way to showcase the gorgeous DSP. It's a set of 6 notecards using Sahara Sand as the base colour and each of the paper designs and this was the final project I presented at Onstage. One of my favourite things about papercrafting is the willingness of others to share their designs and tutorials and this gorgeous box is CASEd from another designer in the UK but I first saw it when one of my good stamping friends from Central Qld shared it at a team day. (We are different teams but in regional areas sharing and connecting is vital and I love her creative energy- thanks Sharon). I think it showed up well on the big screen too. It's not difficult to create, but do the stamping on the base pieces before folding the score lines and assembling. The belly band sim...

#onstage2018 Needlepoint Nook samples #5, fold out Ferrero Box

I do love 3D projects, especially when the DSP is so lovely, and the Ferrero fold out boxes show off the lovely papers so easily. I first saw this box at Onstage in Sydney this year when a fellow demo had made one for her teammate at our table. Sharing ideas and inspiration is one of the best things about Onstage. I will post the link to the original video at the end of this post. You can see my original posts here and here. You can see the two boxes on the bottom left of the layout below with the pink one ope. I didn't get too many pictures on the day! Here's my originals: Project Measurements: DSP 4 3/4" x 4 3/4 Punch and Score on all 4 sides at 1 3/8" and 3 3/8" On EACH side cut one slit down to the corner of the square which will form the base of the box, make this slit a small wedge. Fold the flaps in and glue to form a little box big enough to hold one Ferrero Border strip for outside case CARDSTOCK 11/2...

#onstage2018 Needlepoint Nook samples #4

I have always loved a 3D frame and try to create a sampler each time there is a new catalogue. The Needlepoint Nook suite lent itself to this quite easily. A friend gave me a stash of goodies from a well loved sewing room which included these gorgeous thread wheels and lots of tiny timber spools of cotton, I have had some in a jar as part of my kitchen decor but moved them to this new home. Included in the stash was a beautiful button which inspired the handmade birdsnest in both frames I have made using the Cathedral Window style. There are a few squares using the embroidery panel from the thinlits, some fussy cut floral embroidered flowers, and a few things I love. It is based on the Cathedral Window quilt pattern and the circles of DSP are all Mossy Meadow, punched using a 2" punch, the squares are 1 3/8" and they are all raised on either a single or double layer of dimensionals or thick card. I've used all the Needlepoint Nook buttons, lots of coordinat...

#onstage2018 Needlepoint Nook samples #3

Hello again, I have a few pink toned cards for you using the Needlepoint Nook suite- the Needle and Thread stampset, and the matching framelits. I do love the large embroidered flower and the leaves. Here's the display board from Brisbane Onstage, You can see I still have a few more ideas to share.  Talking about the products was the easiest part because they are so lovely to use. If you follow me you'll know that I just LOVE watercolouring. This panel is watercolour wash on Watercolour paper. I coloured the butterfly using a sponge dauber and both Petal Pin, Blushing Bride and Flirty Flamingo inks. Those galvanised buttons are lovely to use with twine or ribbon. The Tranquil Tide Glimmer paper is perfect as an accent. And I love the sewing machine to attach watercolour panels. When I am in a watercolour mood I often do quite a few panels at once and then decorate them later when they have dried - both of these were done on the same day, with quite ...
