Welcome to a Sunday Night Share. The regular CTC challenges are on a little break now, so we are in relaxed mode just sharing a few projects. This is a set of cards I made for my daughter just to have on hand for those occasions when you need to say thanks, although most are blank all purpose cards. I have used the beautiful Lighthearted Leaves set, and my blender pens and/or aqua painter to get the multicolours. I love the leaf images because they are so versatile for male or female card givers. I went with a versatile colour scheme too of Navy, Crushed Curry, delightful Dijon and Mint macaron. They are all slightly different with minimal use of sentiments and embelishments.     I used my trusty Envelope Punch Board to make a box from Kraft card to match, and tied it up with some chevron ribbon. Welcome back to the CASEing the Catty bloghop for our last Hop for 2015 where we are CASEing each other!!! That's a bit of a thrill since there are so many amazing projects when you start looking back. It has been a wonderful experience to be part of the design team and I have learnt so much from so many talented crafters. Our lineup will change a little next year. but for this week we are each CASEing one of the design team members. I think any paper crafter can easily understand why the adult colouring craze has taken off - we've been doing it for relaxation for ages. I am particularly enjoying colouring in with my blender pen and using the aqua painter as a finishing touch, and the Lighthearted Leaves set is perfect for this. Here are a few samples I was working on recently. The LightHearted Leaves set is so lovely to use. I am really enjoying colouring in the different images. Some with multicoloured leaves and some just plain. This Christmas set uses Tip  Top  Taupe as the base, which I have decorated with a few simple  horizontal lines  scored with my scoring board and a strip of silver glimmer paper. The leaf image is stamped with Cucumber Crush which is such a gorgeous vibrant and fresh green. I have filled in the leaves with the blender pen and coloured the berries with a red marker. I have been wanting to try the technique for the edges and this card seemed the perfect one to use it. I simply ran the edges of the card (Saharah  Sand) along the Versamrak ink pad, and then dragged the edges through a little pile of silver embossing powder. It's super easy and I love the effect. Welcome to my blogpage , you  may have come from the amazing Alison 's great blog, or you may be starting here, either way I hope you can continue around all the designers for some inspiration. The full list of participants is here if you get lost. This week we are CASEing the Section of the Catalogue from pages 42-45 , but since it's Christmas rapidly approaching and I'm in Chrismas creating mode around here I've found Rudolph in the woods! Actually I have been pushed for time so was looking for something quick and easy to make. The cards on the bottom page 42 are both quick makes. This is where the Catalogue is a great resource as you can flick through for some inspiration and you can be confident that the layout will work. There's nothing more disheartening than spending a long time creating something and then feeling that the balance is somehow a little off.  Hence the CASEing the Catty philosophy. Today's class was a fancy fold -another Diorama with the same dimensions as those previously pictured recently. (You can find them here  and here ) I love the Lighthearted Leaves set and have used gold heat embossing on a pale green (Pistachio Pudding here, but Mint Macaroon would work too) and some gold glimmer paper and gold ribbon on Crumb Cake card. (didn't quite get it published before the Just a Add Ink challenge to Just add Glimmer.....) The card is 10 1/2 " long scored at 31/2", 61/2", 7", and 10". You can alter the width to suit your needs, these are cut at 43/4 to fit into the notecard envelopes.  Add caption and an alternative... Rushing to get in before the deadline today since I have been wanting to play along for the whole month!!! I have chosen two of the challenges on offer and I just love this colour combo. Had pleasure using up some old DSP in both these colours, and am also submitting this card for the Stamping' Up! Only challenge#130 - cards for friends. Stamp sets used are Lighthearted Leaves (don't you just love this!)  and Simply Wonderful (retired Sale-a Bration) After I had sponged the grey on grey I ran the piece through my new favourite embossing folder Softly Falling from the new Occasions Catalogue. Lighthearted Leaves is beautiful new set in the Christmas Catalogue which will be released September 1st.When I first saw this set I knew I had to have it - and apparently my tastes must be well known because one of my lovely demonstrator friends laughed and said that she knew I would get it as soon as she saw it!! I can see such a lot of potential with this set- and you will see more posts using it! There are a few techniques used on this card. Firstly I stamped the dictionary background stamp over the Dots and Stripes stencil onto a crumb cake piece, and then sponged the excess ink still sitting on the stencil over the dots, to give a unique background. This is such an easy answer when you don't have any background paper to match your chosen colour- in this case Blackberry Bliss. Secondly the leaves were stamped onto a panel of paper I watercolored using the "smooshing" technique (Ink sprayed with water on a clear block, smooshed onto shimmer paper). I am loving Wa...
