The Twisted Easel card is one we've done in classes before but I thought it was a great design to show off this bright and sunny Sunflower. You can find links to instructions and more samples on the FANCY FOLDS page of this blog.( or in the search bar) But as a reminder, you need to score a diagonal fold line for the twist. Open the card and position it with the centre fold ( the spine ) running horizontal. Score from the Left at the centre fold to the top right.  You then need a second piece of card for your card front which you decorate. This will then adhere to only one of the triangles of the card front. You  can play around and decide which orientation works best for you. This version is landscape but you can also do portrait. For this card I used Two Tone Azure afternoon and regular A4 card base. The two shades of blue make nice layering mats.  Using the 3D folder emboss both an Azure Afternoon rectangle, and a piece of Daffodil Delight, positioning the Daffodil Car...

  There are several great techniques using White Pigment Ink. At a recent event I demonstrated a few of them including:     * Direct stamping with White onto coloured cardstock     *Offset stamping     *Bokeh technique     *Painting with White Ink     *Emboss Resist It has taken me a while to share these samples, I'll post them over a few days. I hope you give some of these techniques a try. Painting with the  White Pigment Ink  gives a really pretty effect, especially when you use different colours of card as your base. I love the effect on Crumb Cake. In this sample I have not added any additional colour. I love the effect. In this one I again painted with colour after the white had dried and layered it up with some texture  and layers to create a twisted easel card.  The Softly Stipple DSP has gorgeous colours and textures. I loved using the Notes of Nature to create and abstract central circle for my feature panel. It was quite strong in colour so I simply added a layer of Vellum cut to the same size to soften it. Instructions are as for the Perennial Lavender sample.  The last of my samples using the Twisted Easel fold ( well for now anyway!) This one uses some of the other bright and beautiful paper from Sale A Bration. After I stamped and fussy cut the typewriter, I covered the whole piece with Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder. Heat embossing it made the whole piece glossy which looks really fun in real life. I decorated the card with some of the tiny daisies from the Loose Daisy Embellishments - fiddly but cute.  I hope you give this card fold a try. The instructions can be found here. At my recent Card Class for February 2024, we used the gorgeous papers from the Perennial Lavender suite. The papers are so pretty. They really lend themselves to being the star of the show, with minimal embellishment needed. And with this large (5 1/2" square) card you get to see a large piece of the beautiful designs. This square Easel card is a real eye catcher. I had the incorrect measurements on the slide at the class (oops!) - but I've corrected it now to the above. Sorry for those people who photographed the slide with the error Cardstock is                          5 1/2" x 11, scored at 5 1/2", and the diagonal fold line DSP x2 patterned pieces cut at 5 1/4" square  ( not 5 7/8" - that was the squash fold card ) White cardstock x1           cut at 5 1/4" square. Last weekend I held a class making some fancy fold cards. The Twisted Easel is a super easy but very effective card and we decorated the front very simply using the Thoughtful Blooms stamp and the Small Bloom Punch- what a brilliant match - hard to go past a stamp and matching punch for easy results. We stamped 6 different colours of flowers, and did 2 different designs. This is the cards all finished. I'll share the dimension for the stand up z fold soon. Well we made the twisted Easel card in class a few weeks ago , and you can find the instructions on the post from Feb 16 TCTC#6, but for a regular Easel cards there are loads of instructions online at various Pinterest and paper crafting sites. I guess that's because there is no one set of dimensions that you have to follow. You might find more cards on this blog under the Label "FANCY FOLDS". I recently posted some of my Easel Cards for the Markets here . But here are a few more samples which I have to share. The first was a Birthday Card for a lovely friend. The Grateful Bunch Daisy looks good in a range of colours, and the largest daisy is so easy to Watercolour. Next I was using up odds and ends that have been lying around unfinished for ages. We made a Twisted Easel card at Saturday's class and I promised I would upload some instructions - It's good to have them in one place, So they'll be searchable here under Fancy Folds. I'm sure there's another edition on this blog from a little while ago. So I made another version and this time I used the very purple  Colour Combination at The Colour Tree Challenge#6. I have to admit that I used Wisteria Wonder in place of Plum, which was a bit of a challenge for me but I dug through my bits and bobs and found an old brad and some ribbon, and all the DSP is from retired packs but that's enough purple in my box! And again I am using the Pocket Sketch Challenge   As I mentioned last time, Julie provides all the measurements ready to go which makes this super fast and easy.
