The Twisted Easel card is one we've done in classes before but I thought it was a great design to show off this bright and sunny Sunflower. You can find links to instructions and more samples on the FANCY FOLDS page of this blog.( or in the search bar)
But as a reminder, you need to score a diagonal fold line for the twist. Open the card and position it with the centre fold ( the spine ) running horizontal. Score from the Left at the centre fold to the top right.
You then need a second piece of card for your card front which you decorate. This will then adhere to only one of the triangles of the card front. You can play around and decide which orientation works best for you. This version is landscape but you can also do portrait.
For this card I used Two Tone Azure afternoon and regular A4 card base. The two shades of blue make nice layering mats.
Using the 3D folder emboss both an Azure Afternoon rectangle, and a piece of Daffodil Delight, positioning the Daffodil Cardstock so that it covers the area of the folder where the largest sunflower sits. It is easy to colour the sunflower using sponge daubers, just apply more daffodil to the embossed yellow card working in a radial pattern adding more depth until you are happy with the colour. Do the same for the centre using Cajun Craze. You won't need very much brown.
It is easy to fussy cut the flower following the embossing lines.
The leaves were diecut using the Thankful Garden dies.

You need a small elevated shape or "stopper" for the card front to rest on when it is open. I had fun using the Not 29 Anymore sentiments for a cheeky birthday card. With the Happy Birthday sentiment at the bottom right you will see it when the card is standing up.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
The Sunflower 3D Folder is a standalone product - there are no stampsets or dies which coordinate with it, and it is slightly larger than normal at 6 x 81/2"
You can find it in my online store here. Make sure to add it to your craft supplies.
"don't just post online,
post something pretty!"
