A little bit of Australia, Maps and Grasstrees

I have been using a few Australian made dies recently and love the new Grasstree die which comes in a set with the old Rusty Ute. These are some sets of cards I have  made using strips of old maps-( these are from the Mundubbera sheet 9046) and the grass tree die. I have cut the shape from Always Artichoke card and then sponged the flower stems with Early Espresso, and stamped some foliage texture on the leaf base using leaves from French Foliage. I love how they have turned out. The envelope and the inside of the card also have some stamping using images from Tap, Tap, Tap, Gorgeous Grunge and Because you Care. I love to layer these sorts of images to finish off my cards. They come packaged like this. thanks for looking, Liz

CTC#35 Thanks

Welcome to this weeks Blog Hop. I hope you find lots of inspiration looking at all the gorgeous cards made by the CTC team using the Thanks section of the catalogue on pages 13-18. Maybe you have arrived here from Helen's Blog, or maybe you are at the beginning. Either way you can keep going around the circle and if you get lost you can find the full list of participants here . Well after my fundraiser on the weekend #creativerelief - raising funds for the Western Qld Drought Appeal- I needed lots of thankyou cards for all the generous people who helped make the day such a success. I have made quite a few different sets this week but this post is about the CASE from the Catalogue. The first time I flicked through the catalogue I loved the butterfly and vellum card in the basket on page 13. It seems it also caught the eye of a few of the team members which is great because we all get to share our versions with you. I made 2 using the new in colours Tip Top T...

Quick set of notecards showing off DSP

I have such a lot of beautiful paper and I tend to hoard it - mostly because I find it hard to cut into a beautiful print! Maybe you are like me? Yet when I make a card using the beautiful paper that makes me happy too, so I have told myself to stop hoarding and start sharing ! I still think that the Venetian Romance DSP is one if the nicest sets I've ever bought and I am pleased to see it at such a good price on the clearance rack. This design is one I saw on Pinterest and gave been waiting to try it.  I did add a few extra details.  I used Gorgeous Grunge   with Island Indigo and Pistachio Pudding to decorate the envelopes and the retired hostess set Because You Care for the sentiment. I love the Kraft card on Soft Suede. The inside has only a strip of DSP to decorate to keep it super simple. This is a thankyou gift for one of the many generous people who helped me raise funds for the Western Qld Drought Appeal at my #creativerelief fundraiser...

More Watercolour cards - Paper Players#241 and JAI#259

After the class on the weekend I have a beautiful stash of watercolour pieces and now I am busy making them into Mother's Day cards.  The challenge at the Paper Playes this week is a clean and simple Watercolour which is always a challenge for me to keep things 'clean' - I do love an embellishment.  This card uses some gorgeous little paper flowers which were part of a treasure trove I found in Vietnam last year. Paper Players #241 For the watercolouring I used Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride and a touch of Crushed Curry. But for the ink and the cardstock ring I used the long retired Peach Parfait which worked a treat. Of course the inside needed a little dressing up. (Trying hard to use up old bits and pieces) - like the glimmer brad in Rich Razzleberry. I have a few other samples too. This one I am entering in JAI# 259 Just add sequins. JAI#259 This one uses Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight and Blushing Bride, as well as the Peach Parfait. ...
