World Card Making Day Oct1 - sharing creativity

T o celebrate World Card Making Day, I am participating in Kathryn's Blog Hop of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from All Around the World to share a card that I have made today (or recently). Kathryn has also challenged us to post this card within a week to someone special, as we all love to receive a big paper hug in the mail. I couldn't agree more. I love the wildflower "Meadow Dies" and have had some fun cutting lots of wildflowers from various papers, and creating little montages with them, layered over an embossed panel. This uses the "Leaf Fall"   Embossing Folder. You can get endless variations of the flowers using patterned papers, and 3 stems is enough. I posted back in April with my tip on how to paint the wildflowers   They look great on both white or vanilla. I do love the kraft card stems in there too. this one uses the Hive and Eucalyptus Embossing Folders I have already posted a bunch of cards this week- my friendly Post Mistress - Treena - ...

CI#128 Ranunculus Romance for an Anniversary Card

This beautiful stamp set has been begging for some attention and I had a lot of fun playing with some of the elements to put together this card for a 1st Wedding Anniversary for a beautiful young couple. I started with a watercolour wash on Shimmery White cardstock using So Saffron and Tahitian Tide, so the blending gave a soft green in the middle, then ran the whole page through the Quatrefoil embossing folder. I cut the two Ranunculus from Blushing Bride and from Petal Pink and spritzed them first with water to soften and shape them. Then I spritzed them again with some alcohol, blushing bride ink and some retired Shimmer Paint ( please bring that back Stampin' Up!). I also added some Very Vanilla wood rings elements, and some of the branches from the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder and dies.  It's hard to find an anniversary sentiment but the Ringed with Nature set certainly has one which was perfect!  Our beautiful inspiration picture this week is delightful. picture cr...

Meadow Dies are so beautiful and my tip for how to paint them.

I love the beautiful shapes of the Wildflowers in the Meadows Dies. There are 4 floral stems, 2 leaves stems and 2 butterflies and 2 tags. The dies can be used alone or in conjunction with the Quiet Meadow stampset. For these samples I have added some additional texture using the sunflower dies and some pink foil. I am so happy that both of these products are continuing on in the next Annual Catalogue due out in May. I have teamed them here with the beautiful Hand Penned DSP which has already sold out. But any pastel background piece will work.  My tip to paint the dies is to run a full sheet of Shimmery White Cardstock through the die cut and emboss machine, and to leave them in the base sheet to colour. I have used an aqua painter and coloured the flowers and butterflies with Magenta Madness and Bumblebee, and the leaves and stems with Garden Green and Just Jade. Once the colours are dry you can press them out of the sheet and you are ready to go. Here's another sample using a si...

CI#118 Season's Blessings sparkle

I love green so you would think I would have jumped to create this challenge, but like all things lately it is taking me longer to get started! So I'm late again but no matter, I did find some INKspiration and created a basket of flowers using the beautiful Season's Blessings stampset and dies.  I am so sad that this bundle will be retiring at the end of April-   it's so lovely to use and just a little bit different to so many floral sets.  This is the inspiration pic for this challenge Picture credit -  https://westcoastgardens.ca/  So here's my card recipe Watercolour wash with Soft Succulent ink on shimmery white cardstock stamp the leaves in Garden Green and paint over sections with Soft Succulent stamp the flower centres (how cute are they) in garden green stamp the flowers with versamark and clear emboss the let the vanilla flowers show through, then paint them with Wink of Stella cut the basket from silver foil ( retired from the Christmas mini- it's...
