Do you ever make cards that just don't quite work and you can't bring yourself to use them? I do, all the time. And sometimes I can revamp them into something new, like this Birthday card using the fabulous Piece of Cake stamp and punch  This is the new version This is the old version I created these watercolour cards last year, and you can read more about them here . But they never really worked for me so I did a little surgery - I cut the panel off the Pineapple card, leaving a thin border and mounted in on some Kraft cardstock (I wish Stampin' Up! would bring this gorgeous card back), before mounting the cake in front of it. Now I like it much better. I may just have to have a look at what else I have that needs a little TLC .... or a scalpel! I love the Piece of Cake stamp set and had to purchase the bundle after seeing the fab creations of Lou Kitzelman ( A Bow on Top) at Onstage in Brisbane in November. The set has been sitting on my desk waiting for some attention and my first play was lots of fun. I liked the challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and thought I'd start there. My additional colour is Soft Sea Foam. - with a little bit of watercolouring, a little bit of stamping, some metallic thread and my favourite embellishments, the wee candles. The black and white striped paper is retired but there are lots of alternatives in the butterlfy DSP available free in Sale A Bration. I love the splosh dots from the Beauty Abounds set, they are so useful. I'm looking forward to playing with this set more.
