How nice to be back crafting and creating cards to give away. I love to give handmade cards as gifts so that a handwritten note can be an easy task. I'm working on rebuilding my collection of finished sets. The new Fragrant Layers stamp and die bundle are just gorgeous so these cards came together quite quickly, and I created a box to put them in for easy gift giving. This week's colour combination is so soft and fresh. It just happens that the Colours- Soft Sea Foam and Pool Party match the tones of this week's challenge colours. What an honour to be invited back to join with the Caseing the Catty team for their 500th challenge! Thankyou Bec for thinking of me. I started with the CTC crew way back at the beginning and I still go to the catalogue as a ready reference for creative ideas. The earliest post I can find is 2014 - CTC#3! 10 years of crafting along, that's pretty amazing. For this challenge it was completely open to choose any project to  CASE from either the annual or the Christmas mini catalogue. There are lots of projects in there that spark a creative journey for me and I did have a hard time choosing. In the end I opted for something simple since none of us have much free time at this hectic time of year. To make things a tad more difficult I have covid so feeling pretty low on energy. Lucky that crafting is a relaxing pastime and I can sit at my craft desk without be scolded too much by my loving DH that I need to be resting! At my Country Bouquet card class in February this is one of the projects we created.  A cute little Tote Bag which holds a set of 4 notecards. We first created the multicoloured strip of card using blending brushes, 3 colours of ink, ( Melon Mambo, Mango Melody and Calypso Coral) on Shimmer Cardstock, White ink splatters, water splashes to lift some of the colour, and finally splatters of gold ink.  The Tote bag was inspired  from © Tammy Shaia, Independent Stampin’ Up! The advantage of this project is that is uses only half a sheet of 12 X 12 DSP and 1 ½ sheets A4 Cardstock, and it fits 4 Notecards and Envelopes ASSEMBLY Makes a beautiful gift. Happy Easter to you all. Hope it is relaxed and filled with special moments with family and friends. I have taken the colour challenge this week as inspiration for decorating my little Easter Egg packages. Using isopropyl rubbing alcohol and a few drops of each of the challenge colours, along with a few drops of white shimmer paint (sadly now retired) I mixed up 4 containers and spritzed the egg cartons in a random pattern. Calypso Coral, Magenta Madness, Fresh Freesia and Pool Party made a lovely palette. Such a fresh and pretty combination. I decorated 3 boxes with the different colours and also spritzed a sheet of Shimmery White cardstock which I then cut up into 2" strips for the tags. To finish them off I simply added some gold foil by smearing some Tombow glue in lines and swirls on the carton, waited until it was tacky and brushed some gold flakes over the areas with adhesive.
