CI#75 what a vibrant and happy colour combination

Oh my goodness what a welcome sight- such a bright and cheerful colour combination, such a happy reprieve from a troubled world! I was so happy to create with these colours, they just made me happy working with them.  It also made me very happy to be working with a stamp set which is just so beautiful. I loved this set as soon as I saw it and it never disappoints, although it hasn't seen much ink lately. I started with some simple rows of colour  by repeat stamping the same image in a single colour- a different leaf for each tone. I actually don't own the Gorgeous Grape stamp pad - I know, gasp, horror! so to improvise I stamped with versamark on Gorgeous Grape cardstock and heat embossed the leaf and the sentiment with clear embossing powder- works a treat. I've stamped each of the leaf elements in their same colour on a separate sheet and cut them out to assemble in a little cluster. The two skeleton leaves got the texture treatment with the aid of a silic...

TUTORIAL - Gate Fold #3 Unequal size "gates"

A Gate Fold Card  is any card where 2 flaps fold in from either side to cover the writing on the inside panel of the card. The size of the card base determines the finished size of the card but the flaps can many different sized - they can be equal width and meet in the middle - they can be one wide and one narrow and fold over each other - they can also be different heights - ie one tall and one short - like this version. I posted a few Pink versions yesterday,  (you can see that post here )  but here are some more masculine samples. We made this card at a workshop earlier this year but I never had time to write up the dimensions which I promised to do so now that I am finishing up making the kits I am recording the dimensions and instructions for you. This is CASEd from a beautiful card which I received last year. DIMENSIONS: Cardstock Card base and Left flap                  17.5cm x 14.7...

CASEing the Catty-#207, anything but a card- has to be a tin of cards!

Hello, it's such a busy time of year this was a super quick project to add to my stash of gifts for Christmas. I love the copper tea tins for sets of cards, they look so great packaged up and I had quite a few at the markets recently. This one uses one of the coming stamp sets which we received at Onstage."Incredible Like You" I think these make lovely appreciation, birthday or encouragement cards so I have left the inside blank I have used Soft Sea Foam, Blueberry Bushel, Garden Green and Melon Mambo on a base of Grey Granite. I was inspired by the decorated tins on page 14 of the annual catalogue. The front of the tin has a 3 x 3 square which is indicative of the cards inside, and the tin is wrapped in a strip of 2" DSP.  I can;t believe it but I've now run out of 3 x 3 envelopes! so this ended up as a set of 6 - usually I do 8. The tins are a great size.  And here's a few of the other tins I had at the markets. I hope yo...

CTC #185 Best Route inspiration pages

Welcome back for another week at CASEing the Catty as we work our way through the different sections of the catalogue. This week we look at pages 52-65, and my inspriation picture came from page 59 and the silhouette on the multicoloured background of watercolour wiht the Enjoy Life set. At least - that was where I started! I have always loved silhouette images and this set appeals to me for both its images and sentiments. I have been having a lot of success using the stamparatus and doing Multicoloured stamping.  So instead of watercolour I thought I'd try a multicoloured panel. Yesterday's post has all the instructions for how to do this (you can find it here .) I LOVE the Bokeh dots stamp images- this one is the starry background, isn't it gorgeous. So from there I switched up the colours and the stampset but still used the multicoloured panel and the silhouette image, but this time the tall tree from Rooted in Nature. Here'...
