CTC#140 Inspired by the Babies and Kids section

Hello and welcome back for another week of inspiration from the Catalogue. This week we are using pages 102-111. Have you ever seen a set in the catalogue that was a "Must Have" item which you find hard to use once you have it in your hands?? The Bookcase Builder set was one of those for me. But I am happy that thanks to CTC now that I have had it out I am much more comfortable with it. I challenged myself to CASE the card on page 105 and see what I could come up with. I even managed to get some Father's Day cards done as well. It is quite a versatile set once you get going with it. I love that you can stamp the images individually or put them all on a block to stamp backgrounds in a hurry. I sold all my baby girl cards at last week's markets so need a few to replenish my stash. But I couldn't make a girl card and not mirror it with a boy card. This image from page 105 shows you both the inspiration card and the fabulous images in the stamp ...

It's an Afternoon Tea Tree

Hello again. I have a collection of cards and paper creations here using the gorgeous Cups and Kettle Framelits and various techniques. I love the spiral die rolled flowers and was looking for a new way to display them when the Afternoon Tea Tree was born. The roses are created from Very Vanilla and the gorgeous rose leaves are from the new Rose Wonder Thinlits . I used an old teapot made for me by a friend and the fine shape of the teapot matches the fineness of the twigs from my garden. I did use lots of hot glue to assemble the tree. The teapots and teacups are tied on using Linen Thread or Whisper White Bakers Twine , and I made a series of Teabags from the Pretty Petals paper stack to match. I was inspired by the colour scheme from the Pretty Petals paper pack and I love the Shine On DSP. The Watermelon Wonder on the Kraft card tones well with the Calypso Coral from the DSP, and you can never say no to the sparkle of silver(!) so it was great to use some ...

Welcome for Heidi - GDP#003

Well it's quite provident that this week's challenge at Global Design Project is BABIES!  (GDP#003) as I have a special baby card for some friends who have had a long and anxious wait. And she arrived this week safe and sound so this card is to welcome Heidi Maree. It is a folding card with a concertina of tags which I have made before for Father's Day (Accordion Tag Fold card)  and you can find the instructions here . It is a little hard to photograph so this is a picture heavy post, I hope you get the idea. I wanted something bright and cheerful so I have used a retired colour - the bright and lovely Pretty in Pink which tones beautifully with Strawberry Slush (also retired), and I have kept it to a monotone with only a few touches of silver. The retired set Hello Love has such sweet images, and it was a great opportunity to use the Alphabet Rotary Stamp to make this truly personal with her name and birthdate. The four different tags are a great canvas to...

CTC#43 Artitistic Expression colourful card

It's the CTC blogshop for the Artistic Expression section of the catalogue. There's such a lot of gorgeous cards to see in this section. Hello ago and welcome from Kathryn's beautiful post. I am a little bit excited with how this week's card turned out. After my card class on the weekend where we played with the Babywipe Technique, I used the flower image from Crazy About You and stamped repetitively to cover a panel. I love how it looks and I will be using this technique again especially when I don't have any DSP in the colour I need. I think it looks a bit like fireworks.  I used the card on the top left of page 117 of the catalogue for this inspiration. I loved the colour and the card layout. The black scroll from Everything Eleanor was heat embossed onto the panel and the flower was heat embossed onto some typeset DSP before being cut out - love the goose treated this way in the catalogue sample card. For the senti...
