Lillybet's Papers

Hello again. I have a collection of cards and paper creations here using the gorgeous Cups and Kettle Framelits and various techniques. I love the spiral die rolled flowers and was looking for a new way to display them when the Afternoon Tea Tree was born. The roses are created from Very Vanilla and the gorgeous rose leaves are from the new Rose Wonder Thinlits . I used an old teapot made for me by a friend and the fine shape of the teapot matches the fineness of the twigs from my garden. I did use lots of hot glue to assemble the tree. The teapots and teacups are tied on using Linen Thread or Whisper White Bakers Twine , and I made a series of Teabags from the Pretty Petals paper stack to match. I was inspired by the colour scheme from the Pretty Petals paper pack and I love the Shine On DSP. The Watermelon Wonder on the Kraft card tones well with the Calypso Coral from the DSP, and you can never say no to the sparkle of silver(!) so it was great to use some ...

The new Catalogue has such lovely products, and I am totally loving the Irresisitbly Yours DSP. - one of the Sale-A-Bration  products free with Purchases over $90. So I have chosen to use it for this weeks CASEing the Catty challenge #16. Bronwyn has such a beautiful card and I only just learned that you can stamp on the DSP before sponging or misting and it gives another layer to the paper. I saw this first by Carolyn Lindenmeyer whose blog is Carolyn's Card Creations . There is a video link which demonstrates this , and I too must thank  Linda Heller  (When the rubber Hits the Road)  for this idea I saw on her blog. Well of course I couldn't make only one card, but I am entering this first one into the Challenge. I cut the DSP to 12x24 cm since I am quite fond of square cards. I stamped the Dictionary Stamp as the background, then when I wiped off the Soft Suede Ink it filled in the background colour. To brighten it I then sponged Wisteria Wonder around ...

The morning Burst Sunray Design has been around for a while and there is a great tutorial on the OWH website.(which I can't find at the moment). I have been wanting to try it out for some time and this framed piece is the result. It is also very popular at the moment I think because it is in the new catalogue in a card which shows off the Eastern Elegance Suite (p110) Here I have used the Morning Medley Designer Paper. I love the Black with the Vanilla, and this is one of those sets that does look better in real light. Some Vanilla Seam binding and some pearls on a pin and it has come together quite nicely. The rolled paper roses are tinted with some Blushing Bride ink which was brushed on with the aqua painter ( My favourite tool)!!!  The hints of green are provided by some very thin strips of Wild Wasabi Paper in loops.
