Welcome back for another week. This week I have taken a layout from page 12 and ended up on a journey with a few unplanned changes - do you ever start crafting with one plan in mind but it then takes a different direction? Happens to me all the time... Welcome back for another week at CTC, you may have arrived from  Rachel , or you may be starting here, but sit back with a cuppa and enjoy the hop around this week's collection of projects inspired by pages 12-15 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. I liked the partial die cut element where the taco truck outline comes right off the edge of the circle, so I planned to try that with the chicken. You need to stamp your image first, lay the frame lit (any shape) so that part of the image extends outside the circle, and lay your top acrylic plate so that part of the circle (or other frame lit) is not covered by t...

While this card is made with not all Stampin' Up! products it is a blend of old and new, nothing borrowed but something blue. Next weekend is the Handmade Expo Markets here in Rockhampton and I always like to have a stash of wedding cards. This is one which I think fits the bill for both these challenges. The GDP challenge #040 is to CASE  the Designer and using Shawn de Oliveira's card I have reversed the layout to have the long strip and ribbon accent on the left. I am really glad I purchased the new Falling Flowers and May Flowers bundle. The stamped images are crisp and clear and the framelits are magic. I have heat embossed in white both the leaves and berries onto Naturals White cardstock (wish they'd bring this back), and also one onto some pale DSP which I had left over. Then I coloured the berries with my blender pen using Mint Macaron. The die cut leaves are from the same set of framelits and I used some shimmer white paper which I had watercoloured fo...

Don't you just love it when a card comes together quickly without too much rearranging? I have been working very hard to clear a lot of thos 'bits and pieces' off my work area. I am a bit of a chaotic crafter and always end up with extra bits left over from projects  - which I struggle to throw away.!!!! So this card actually used up 8 elements ( including a stamped envelope) which were left over from other projects and it all just fell together. I am really glad I purchases the Falling Flowers set as it is truly lovely - nicer than the catalogue would suggest. I hope you get a chance to play with it sometime. the matching Framelits are brilliant, especially the large Dahlia, and I'll have more fancy fold cards to show you this week using it too. Having said that, this set would work well as just the stamps on their own. I do love the leaves from the Fabulous Flora set stamped along the edge of the card like this. It's a technique I used a lot for Onstage....

Just wanted to quickly share a wedding card I made recently for a friend. I didn't know for sure that pink would be the bridal colours but it was a good guess.  I love the Definitley Dahlia stamp for a solid base of colour, and Flirty Flamingo is such a great pink to use. the sentiment is from Rose  Wonder and is such a beautiful font. The focus of my next class is using up pretty paper scraps. We all have loads of gorgeous papers in our stash and sometimes we just need a push to get started to actually use them up. So A simple layout is essential to show off the pretty patterns and this week sketch at FMS is ideal.   I did add a few extra details with the stitching and ribbon. I had such fun playing with the colours from The Colour Tree Challenge #11 and had some watercolour panels left so I decided to make a thankyou card for this weeks challenge at The Global Design Project #027. HI again, and welcome back to CTC - can you believe we are up to #70 already? This week we are using the Sale-a-Bration catalogues again- not too many more weeks and it will be over again for another year, but there is still time to get your favourite set for free with your $90 purchase. You may have come from Jackie's blog  or you maybe starting here. Sit back and enjoy the projects. I have chosen the sketch on the front page of the supplement for the recent releases - the same sketch as Julia this week, but with quite a different result. This is the first time I have inked up this lovely set and I really enjoyed the layering. My roses are done in Pink Pirouette as the base, Blushing Bride second, and Rose Red for the top detail, while the leaves are Mint Macaron and Cucumber Crush. I think the collage stamping suits a 90th birthday - what do you think? And just to decorate the inside, a little touch of collage stamping with some added Timeless Texture. ...

Welcome Back for the Sunday Night Blog Hop. Welcome from Rachel's beautiful blog This week we are CASEing the Love Blossoms section of the Catalogue which is such an amazing section of the Catalogue with loads of ideas and gorgeous products.  I fell in love with the Rose Garden Bundle so have chosen to CASE this for you, using Blushing Bride over Pink Pirouette and layered up on Sahara Sand. The burlap ribbon is so on trend with weddings currently and it blends nicely with the soft pinks. I have to say that the Fine Tip Glue Pen was a must for this project. How did I manage without it? I have used some Embroidery Thread in the right tone as I wanted pink rather than linen on this project. For the second card I repeated last week's tip about wrapping the Patterned Vellum around the plain card base for a softer look. The tiny sentiment is from a very old but still much loved set called Tiny Tags, but you could easily use any sentiment you liked for this layout...
