Gift Card Holder project 5 from Christmas Card Class

Christmas is a great time to give Gift Cards - and a hand made fancy card is the best way to dress up this gift. the Front This is an easy design which I modified to metric measurements for our Australian market.  ( the Paper Pixie has US measurements for this design) The inside This is a picture heavy post to give you the instructions. You only need one strip of DSP but I have given the measurements in both metric and imperial as it is a good design to use your 6x6 DSP. 1. Score your cardstock at 6.5 and 14 cm, this gives a 6.5cm panel, which will fold to the inside and hold the gift card, a 7.5 cm panel which will be the card front, and a regular panel 10.5 x 14.5 for the inside panel where you will write your message. 2. cut your DSP strips as per the table above,  and cut your cardstock pieces 10 x 14 for the writing panel inside, and 9 x 9 for the card front. 3. adhere the 2.5cm strip to the sentiment panel and adhere to the inside of the card. .  4. on the card front adhere the t

Merriest Moments Stepped up project 4

There are lots of amazing samples around the social sites using this amazing bundle. I was quite inspired by the stamper at 'Lollipop paper and ink" and like her, once I got started I ended up creating quite a stash. That won't be a problem though because I think this year it will be especially important to reach out to friends and family with a little paper hug at Christmas. After cutting with the large open die in the Embossing Folder, there is a more detailed die which will cut out the individual outline of the leaves framing the sentiment. Here you can see the some Evening Evergreen card poking through to highlight this. If you check back to  this recent  post you can see the link to watch Sara explaining the magic of this folder and dies. I then used the blending brushes to add a hint of colour to the embossed leaves on the main panel, and the embossed timeworn type on the base layer. It's amazing the different effects you can get using different colours in the la

Merriest Moments Christmas card class project 4 Hybrid Embossing Folder

Card number 4 used the Hybrid Embossing Folder to emboss and cut the detailed leaf panel using the Pearlescent Specialty Paper which is just stunning in all its shimmery glory. This is overlaid onto a panel of Evening Evergreen which has been embossed using the Timeworn Type folder which is also new. The Merriest Moments Stampset is a great set to use, but the Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies which coordinate with it are amazing. So project #4 included using these wonderful tools. The largest die fits directly over the image INSIDE the Embossing Folder so that you can emboss and cut the image in a single piece. This is exactly what we did using the specialty  Pearlescent Paper. Sara Douglas, the CEO of stampin' Up! demonstrated these amazing products on her recent Facebook Live which you can see by following this link. https://fb.watch/84P6dVOvd_/ This angle shows the great detail in the embossed background panel. We stamped a sentiment on shimmery white cardstock and cut it out us

Merriest Moments and Gingerbread M &M cards

Christmas Card class project 3 was made using the fabulous Gingerbread and Peppermint Memories and More cards (p9), and a Poinsettia stamped from the Memories and More set. Two small pieces of the gorgeous Cherry Cobbler and Gold 1/2'Ribbon are anchored under the flower which is popped up on a dimensional.  The sentiment is Heat Embossed in white directly onto the card front. In researching Poinsettia plants it appears the green leaves are the same shape and structure as the flowers, so the holly leaf, the pine branch and the round leaf stem seem wrong for the flower. So we are using the Poinsettia flower stamped in green for the leaves.   We stamped one large Poinsettia in the Real Red, and one small flower in Just Jade. It is easy to die cut the flowers and then snip the small green flower into 6 individual leaves which you can then poke in at the appropriate angles under the large red flower.   When you die cut the stamped flowers,  cut 2 small flower centres from some coordinat
