JAI#213

Love this inspiration picture. Here's my take on it. I don't use chevrons too often so that was a challenge for me - the circle thinlits flip card has a chevron shape in it so I used that on the Pink Pirouette cardstock and layered the gold glimmer paper behind it. The pink still seemed too strong so I layered some vellum over the top to tone it down a bit. The little flowers I made using the scallop flower shape from the Boho Blossoms Punch cut into a spiral . ( I tried the spiral flower die with tissue but it was a disaster this time..., and the cardstock spiral seemed too big, maybe next time…) The pale blue sequins are leftover from an old dancing costume adventure and they seemed the perfect colour. The Mr & Mrs is heat embossed with gold onto White Shimmer Paper, and of  course seam binding ribbon, buttons and Linen thread. thanks for looking, Liz

Just Add Ink#209 - Just Add Layers

White heat embossed Hello Doily stamp on crumb cake, mounted on Early Espresso Cardstock, layered up on a Soft Sky card base which I embossed for some added texture. The Happy Birthday sentiment from Label Love is heat embossed with the Pool Party embossing powder, sponged with Soft Sky ink and layered up on soft Sky and Early Espresso C'ordinations cardstock which has been sanded. The little flower is made using the Boho blossoms punch and the layers are held together with the flat base brad topped with a little pearl. The pool party twine from the Sale-a-Bration pack works well too. A few little sequins and pearls for bling, and the leaf image from Summer Silhouettes to finish it off. The leaves have a few silver ink highlights added. thanks for looking, Liz

Sweet Sorbet Sahara Sand

I have always like Sahara Sand and White, so I have created a few simple birthday cards using some of the DSP from the Sweet Sorbet pater series free with $90 purchase during Sale a Bration 2014. The Butterfly is die cut from vellum and then partially dry embossed with the border folder on an angle, the flowers are cut using the Boho Blossom Punch and tied over Crumb cake ribbon with linen thread and a clear flower button. The lacy Delicate Details Tape behind the ribbon brings out the white. The leaf motif from Summer Silhouettes  is stamped in Sahara sand and highlighted using a silver glitter gel pen. The butterfly of course is from the go-to set   Papillion Potpourri. While the washi tape is not SU it matches nicely with the overall feel of of the card. The label punch is highlighted with a little shimmer paint on the white, and the pearls just tie it all together. I think I'm going to get some good use from this paper.Contact me if you would like t...
