#Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 7 beginner, casual, avid samples alternative colour scheme

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ) This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It is totally lovely to use. I showed my beginner, casual and avid samples here on   .11.22. But I had also created an alternative set in a different colour scheme. Cazz went home with the avid version. The beginner and casual samples use simple techniques for some added interest. Here is some detail of the coloured shimmery white embossing paste over the sponged Fresh Freesia background on the crumb cake cardstock. Again I used the bough punch for some added elements. I hope you enjoy creating with these products as much as I have. I still have a few more samples to show you, so be sure and pop back and check out all of this week's posts. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post...

CI #73 Sally's photo

The beautiful photo for CI#73 was taken at a property outside Longreach called Ernestina in June 2019 after some winter rain. It is a very rare display of so many flowers commonly called Lamb's tail (appropriate since it used to be sheep country) or Mulla Mulla or Cotton Bush, but properly known as Ptilotus exaltatus, P.nobilis, P. obovatus. We lived in Longreach for 4 years in the early 90's and Sally is a friend we made during that time. She has quite an eye for photography. The seasons since have been quite hard  and they have not had much of the recent rains. The longterm effects of living with drought are real and profound. I never cease to be amazed at the myriad of difficulties that primary producers live with that we take for granted in our urban lives, and the strength they need to keep going. Please keep all our drought stricken farmers in your thoughts and prayers. The drought is certainly not broken....  I made 2 different cards using these lovely colours and ...

CI#61 Painting with white, gorgeous wedding colours

Welcome, and what a beautiful colour palette and inspiration pic we have this week. - I think I say that most weeks!!.. but seriously this week is gorgoeus. And I have a few orders for wedding cards so this inpsiration really set me to work. I have created a few wedding cards using white Kraft Ink to paint onto the darker card surface. You can then colour with your markers of blender pen onto your white base, but I left the flowers white and simply coloured the leaves with my favourite green Mint Macaron. I used one of the gorgeous new masks coming in the Christmas Catalogue and while the embossing paste was still damp I sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The floral image from Bloom and Grow was Clear Embossed onto Soft Suede cardstock and painted with white ink. I did a few coats allowing it to dry between layers. The leaves are coloured using just a marker. The card has a wishing well pocket inside to hold the notes discreetly so the ribbon is perfect to h...

ANZAC Dawn scrapbooking, JAI #422

I have never been a scrapbooker but every now and then I have a go.  This beautiful photo means a lot to me. The colours of dawn are beautiful. But the image calls me to remember the Courage, the Honour and the Sacrifice which represent the lives of so many, and which have been given for us that we may enjoy this life in this beautiful country. The watercolour panel is painted with Real Red, Calypso Coral and Powder Pink, with a hint of Night of Navy at the top. The white base has been coloured with Sahara Sand and a sponge roller, and I hope it has a slightly uneven feel to it, like sand in the desert. The embossing paste has been coloured with Sahara Sand ink and applied over the middle eastern looking mask. I figured the sand colour was appropriate. I stamped the sentiment onto one of the labels from the Delightfully Detailed Memories and More pack as I loved the coral Watercolour effect. The font is quite lovely from Make a Difference. And while the Amazing You ...
