Yesterday I posted about how to create a panel using the Bokeh Technique -you can read those instructions here. Using all the blues.  Today I am sharing a card I intended to share for Colour INKspiration #169, but I ran out of time to get it photographed and posted.  I am following on in my series on techniques using White Pigment Ink. Welcome back for another round of colourful fun. This week's inspiration picture is amazing and the colours are gorgeous but gee I found it hard to get any ideas to work this week! Does that happen to you too? I had loads of ideas that were fabulous in my head but translating those to reality was just elusive this time around.  However I'm happy to say that after lots of attempts at various ideas, sticking with it paid off and I am quite happy with the final result. A blend of watercolouring and bokeh techniques,  inspired by the ripples in the water in the photo- and the leaf in the foreground. I love the Shimmery white Card for this sort of watercolouring. It's easy to work with. These are all pretty strong colours together so I added only the smallest amount of Cherry by stamping the sentiment and the wee hearts so as not to overpower the piece. After the class on the weekend I have a beautiful stash of watercolour pieces and now I am busy making them into Mother's Day cards.  The challenge at the Paper Playes this week is a clean and simple Watercolour which is always a challenge for me to keep things 'clean' - I do love an embellishment.  This card uses some gorgeous little paper flowers which were part of a treasure trove I found in Vietnam last year. Paper Players #241 For the watercolouring I used Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride and a touch of Crushed Curry. But for the ink and the cardstock ring I used the long retired Peach Parfait which worked a treat. Of course the inside needed a little dressing up. (Trying hard to use up old bits and pieces) - like the glimmer brad in Rich Razzleberry. I have a few other samples too. This one I am entering in JAI# 259 Just add sequins.
