What an honour to be invited back to join with the Caseing the Catty team for their 500th challenge! Thankyou Bec for thinking of me. I started with the CTC crew way back at the beginning and I still go to the catalogue as a ready reference for creative ideas. The earliest post I can find is 2014 - CTC#3! 10 years of crafting along, that's pretty amazing. For this challenge it was completely open to choose any project to  CASE from either the annual or the Christmas mini catalogue. There are lots of projects in there that spark a creative journey for me and I did have a hard time choosing. In the end I opted for something simple since none of us have much free time at this hectic time of year. To make things a tad more difficult I have covid so feeling pretty low on energy. Lucky that crafting is a relaxing pastime and I can sit at my craft desk without be scolded too much by my loving DH that I need to be resting! For my projects I have created a Christmas Card and a matching Gift...

 We used the Gorgeously Made stampset at class last week and it was very easy to use. I CASEd the card on page 102 but changed the colours. The background DSP is from the Earthen Elegance Suite which I love. We used  Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock as the main stamping images and I love the pop of the Azure Afternoon for the wheat spray and the textured lines image, which really lifted the whole card. This is a  simple card to replicate, and would look great in a whole range of colours and background papers. We did some second generation stamping for the inside and envelope with the ink left on the stamps from making the front panels for a classy finish. And here's an alternative class card we made using the same stamps and inks and a silver diecut. After playing for the day with the beautiful Season's Blessings bundle I had a bit of fun putting together some leftover bits and pieces to go along with the CASEing the Catty challenge this week - to CASE a sketch from page in the Annual Catalogue. I was drawn to the gorgeous string basket in the dies set as soon as I saw it - I have a very clever friend who weaves all sorts of amazing shapes and this reminded me of her awesome creations. I also love the current decorator trend of potplants in woven baskets so that's what I created. I have mixed the string basket with greenery from the perfect plants suite and the Season't Blessings set. The beautiful DSP is from a new pack called Harvest Meadow which will be available in the new Mini Catalogue August 3- December 2021. The colours in this set are gorgeous. The Stitched Greenery Dies make the perfect background. And the sentiment is from Welcoming Window. I don't have any family living close by so this sentiment is one ...

This #simplestamping card uses a 1" circle punch as I was creating cards using only the stampset for a class. This same concept is one I used recently. Although the small circle punch is no longer available there are several small punches which will work with this layout.  I recently posted  this card which was CASE'd from the Sale a Bration Brochure. You can see more details here  . At class we used the same concept but a different punch- if you had the dies you could cut the flowers individually. It is some #simplestamping using the gorgeous Pretty Perennials set. Here's another version using only 2 colours. The possibilities are endless. same, same but different there are just so many ways to use this stampset once you get going. Playing with the fabulous Pretty Perennials set and looking for ways to use it without having the dies or fussy cutting the word Happy- wish there was a die for that! I love SIPP- Stamps, Ink, Paper and Punch. Of course the Catalogues are great places for inspiration and I was instantly captivated by the card using the postage stamp punch. I love to be able to use products I already own to extend the use of new sets.  For this card I punched the shapes first and then stamped the flowers off the edge of each,  but you could easily do it the other way around. I felt the white postage stamps were a bit lost next to each other at first so I punched a few more black postage stamp edges and added them to the left side of each stamp. ( also a great way to use us scrapys) And after I stamped each flower I repeated it on the inside edge to add some fun to the inside.
