In the past it's been hard to balance Christmas and birthday in our house because my daughter's birthday is the 11th so we used to wait until after her birthday and not make much fuss about Christmas in the early part of December. However,  now that it's just the two of us left at home we can put it up earlier which is lovely. This weekend is the one! Our 3 children have all left home, and the problem with living in a regional area is that they are all minimum 7 hours drive away. The Challenge this week is to Just Add Music at Just Add Ink, so this is my entry for the Challenge. I only recently bought the Vintage Leaves stampset and I love it. I already had the framelits which I purchased with the Lighthearted Leaves set - also gorgeous - and I have made quite a selection of cards with that set which you can see on another post ( here ). This is a set of thankyou cards which i made for a friend and they are all watercolour wash backgrounds using Cherry Cobbler, Rich Rzzleberry, Old Olive, Night of Navy and Wild Wasabi. She loved them! The leaf is embossed with clear embossing powder on Night On Navy. I always stamp the inside of the card and the envelope to match with a collage of images. These are from Vintage Leaves, Painted Petals and French Foliage. For this one I inked up the embossing folder. I'm so excited about this new blog as they are all amazing designers and some of the team members are among my favourite card makers and designers. It will be lovely to see what they all create each week.  To start things off they have gone with a colour scheme. You can check out the Blog with all the team members Here I have gone for another wedding card as the colours are so well suited. There is a lot of clear embossing on the different papers - French Script (sadly retired - my first ever Stampin' Up! purchase and still a favourite!) on the So Saffron   DSP paper and Gorgeous Grunge on the Pink Pirouette.  I did some So Saffron aqua painting for the background and tissue flowers, and  I used the  Pewter Embossing Powder  (sadly retired) on the Expressions Naturals Elements quite easily. Hi again and welcome back to the CTC blog where we are CASEing the Hostess sets in the Catalogue (p178-181). If you have followed from the beginning of the bloghop you will have come the full circle and arrived from Jess . She always has such stylish creations. The Hostess sets are such good value and there's always some great sets on offer. I have chosen to use the Happy Birthday Everyone set (at the top of the page) which is so useful, and I CASEd the card on the bottom of page 179.  The only problem was that once I had finished I realised it is very similar to last weeks card, and that again I have been drawn to orange and black!!(Not usually my colours!) So I decided to add a male version to show how adaptable this set is. Island Indigo and Lost Lagoon. Welcome back to this week's CTC bloghop, using the new In Colours for inspiration this week. You may have arrived from Julia's beautiful blog, she has such amazing work. I love the new colours but haven't managed to combine them all together successfully, so this week I have 2 cards using different colour combinations. Last week's Artistic Expresssion catalogue section had so many cards for inspiration so I have used a few of them for the card layouts. The first uses the Striped Scallop Thinlits card on page 117 Rebecca CASEd this card last week and it was gorgeous! (You can see it on her blog "the paper and stamp addict" under CTC43 feeling Artsy?), I had already made this card so it was good to see another sample and colour combo.  I love the striped scallop thinlits but haven't used it as much as I thought I would - or as much as the lattice die which I really miss! I make quite a lot of wedding cards but they don't always get written about, so I thought I would showcase a little collection of different styles and samples, some using lots of Stampin' Up! Producers, some a little less. Made using a Sheltering Tr ee, and the mini flower punch. Irresistibly Yours DS P paper and Expressions Naturals Elements Ellen Hutson flower dies,  Expressions Naturals Elements , text Rmbossing Folder Made using the Striped Scallops Thinlits Die and layering 2 sheets on top of each other. Using Hello Doily, and a card and box made from Kraft cardstock. I used the Envelope Punchn Board and the great Box Wizard from A Crafty Owl to get the perfect dimension so that the box was deep enough to not squash the little cluster of flowers (and bits and bobs). It's a shame they don't still make the Mr & Mrs stamp I do love the Lattice Die , Well there are quite a few more ...

As promised here are a few more samples of the Half Circle pop up card from Julie Davison's design. You can see my original sample and a link to the instructions here . My daughter and all her friends are turning 21 so I have had the luxury of making lots of really special cards. These are for a few of the girls. I have used a mixture of papers old and new, and some non SU flowers, numbers and bits and bobs from my stash - "the useful box" as they used to call it on Playschool. The first card  meets the challenge criteria at JAI#272 to just add butterflies - and who can resist the Papillion Potpourri image. I have heat embossed it in black and coloured in with blender pens before punching three out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and then glamming them up a bit with some shimmer paint. The second sample has no butterflies but a really cute little birthday cake of flowers from Blooming with Happiness.  This gorgeous stamps set is sadly retired, but ...

Love a wedding card, and needed some for a friend, so I made a few! I also think there is something special about a square card, these are 12cm square which is not too large to post. Mint Macaron on the Irresistibly yours Paper with the fabulous Natural Expressions Elements and a simple lace trim - matching envelope made with the new envelope paper.  Sahara sand partially embossed with shimmery white floral framelits, love these teamed with the wooden expressions. super simple to put together. Island Indigo sponged over shimmery white framelits. No sentiment at all but I don't think it needs one.
