JAI #258 a little bit of Blackberry Love with FMS#181

IThe challenge this week is a gorgeous colour challenge at JAI.  And I have teamed this with the sketch challenge at Freshl Made Sketches I have been experimenting with watercolour look backgrounds for my next class for Mother's Day and the Blackberry Bliss ink gives gorgeous colours with this technique. The background is the feature so minimal stamping and embellishments let it shone through. (I'm not sure my photography does it any justice here) I used the floral spray from Thoughts and Prayers, and the sentiment from Good Greetings. A little heart from Pictogram Punches i s highlighted with some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and the sequins are strawberry slush from the in colour sequins collection - I have to admit I have used these more than I imagined I would. A little bit of silver pen helped highlight the tiny bit of Smoky Slate stamping. Thanks for looking. Liz

Last of the hexagons for a while!

After attempting to put some multicoloured hexagon cards together I went back to the basics! Modern Medley black and vanilla with one other colour still seems to be my favourite. However I didn't have much DSP in the Lucky Limeade tones so I improvised by stamping the Thoughts and Prayers Tree onto cardstock and Clear Embossing it, this gave just enough "lift" to the  hexagon for a feature tile.  for the Island Indigo feature tiles I did some stamping using one of the flowers from the Best of Flowers set.  We made these at my last card class and I had fun finishing off the leftovers. On a few of them I ran the completed piece through the hexagon embossing folder for a bit more texture. Thanks for looking, Liz

French Foliage gets the Aqua Painter

I was really happy with this card, but then it's so easy to be creative with French Foliage . First I took a piece of Water Colour Paper 8cm x7cm and wet it, then painted it with Pool Party . Once it was dry I stamped the french script in Crumb Cake and the rain drops in Pool Party. (At this stage I dried this with the heat tool as I am inpatient). The leaf image was stamped in Always Artichoke which I then painted with the Aqua Painter. It gave the leaves an almost velvety look. I then painted the remaining ink on the stamp with a little water on the aqua painter and stamped these very soft leaves down the spine of the card base, and left this to dry slowly. I used a sponge to add more Pool Party to the card base and stamped the sentiment (from Thoughts and Prayers),  and the friends tag (Tiny Tags and jewellery Tag Punch ) in Always Artichoke. Lastly I took the Not Quite Navy marker and added a tiny bit of blue around the edges of the leaf directly onto the rubber stamp a...
