At my recent class we focused on the fabulous Layering Leaves stampset.
I created several designs that used just the stampset, then some that also used the coordinating bough punch.
We used a lot of blues.
Each leaf sprig was stamped on a slightly different angle, and at slightly different heights to give a more organic feel to the image. The leaf "in-fill" stamp was stamped off a few times to give a really faint random image which added a subtle hint of colour and background texture.
The same technique was applied to the next class card but in a larger panel for a different effect. The cute little "dottage" stamp was used to create the lower border.
Playing around with the stamps to create a background panel I tried vertical and horizontal rows, with the images both upright and upside-down.
I used pencil lines drawn 1 1/4" apart as a guide for the stems. Here's a few ideas
Multiple rows also worked well
And as an alternative I then stamped a flower image over the top and heat embossed these with gold.
Once you start playing there are plenty of ways you can use the stamps in this set.
Of course the sentiments are just gorgeous and you could easily use them as a feature on any beautiful DSP card for an easy wow.
I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz
