CTC#116 Inspired by Pages 20-31

Welcome back of another week of CTC. This week we are CASEing quite a big section of the catalogue-pages 20-31, which includes the Oh So Succulent suite. I love the succulent set but need a lot more time to play with it. (I'm sure you can all relate to that!) I also love little square notecards like the one on page 31, so I had a little play and this is what I came up with. This week I've done the step it up system again. This is a lot of fun and a process which can help you analyse your own style and how to adapt that for classes or workshops to appeal to a wider range of styles. This week I am stepping it up from simple stamping directly onto the notecard, then building on that with another colour, added layers and embellishments. Although the twine doesn't carry through from the base card it needed a little bit of black to tie them all together. Beginner Crafter  - very simple stamping and minimal supplies - 1 colour of Cardstock (Thick Whisper W...

Just Add Ink #347

Preparing for this weekend's class today and thought I'd just quickly post this card using the JAI colour selection this week. the class card won't have quite so many embellishments! I wasn't sure about the Pear Pizazz with this combo so I stamped it on white then sponged Mint over the top, but in the end I added more pear ink on top! it's always a surprise! thanks for looking,  "don't just post online, post something pretty", Liz

Easel Card for Valentine's

Just a quick post of a standing Easel card. These are great because they fold flat for posting but stand up for display. I sell a lot of these at the Markets, but I could design a class for you around this type of card if you like. No red hearts here - just a simple little wooden accent heart and some gorgeous paper. Here is the card folded for posting  and here it is standing up. thanks for looking,  To cut only the half circle you use the "partial die cutting technique". There are lots of video tutorials on how to to do this, but essentially you place the top acrylic plate only where you want the framelit to actually cut and leave the remainder of the shape uncovered by the plate. This means there will be no pressure from the rollers going over the uncovered cutting surface. If you would like to see a video with the instructions for how to make this card you can click on t his link. I have CASE'd Debbie Henderson. and remember  "don't...

CTC#115 Thankyou 3 ways -Step It Up - plus1 from my Plus 1!

Welcome back for another CASEing the Catty Sunday hop . You may have come from the very talented Kelly - she can be a hard act to follow! or you may be starting here, be sure and hop all the way around for some inspiration form everybody. Then we'd love you to also create something inspired by pages 8-11 of the Sale a Bration catalogue and share it on our Facebook group page. My original plan was to work with the Delicate Details set which I love, but then I thought I should play with the So Very Much set and see how easy it is to use. It is a very large sentiment which can be difficult to use, and the picture in the brochure is a bit deceptive - the card on the left is VERY big.  So I opted to play with the layout on the right. Here's the 3 versions (plus 1)  which I created of the same layout.  You can look at these as being for a Beginner stamper, A Casual Crafter, and an Avid Crafter. Here's the catalogue sample on the right. Beginner Crafter - very sim...

Just lovin' the chickens.

These guys are so cute to work with. here's one for The Handmade Expo Markets coming soon on Feb 25 at the Rockhampton Showgrounds, and these guys are the rest of what I made the other day with scraps from my desk.....so much fun. Don't forget you can earn your own set of these guys too but only during SaleAbration - purchase $90 worth of any Stampin' Up! products and this could be your free set.  - just click on the Shop Now rainbow button and it will take you directly to the online store where you can browse all the products in the catalogues. or if you would like a private class for 4-6 friends based on this set let me know and I'll arrange it for you. I'll give you a break from chickens for a while now! Liz

Hey Chick using Colour INKSpiration 02 colours

This week's colour INKspiration (02) colours had me trying lots of things before the challenge. My original idea was to use the Hey Chick set, but it didn't quite work the way I had in my head so I put it aside and created the tiled collage instead. ( You can see that here.) So I had lots of chickens lying around on my desk - here's a selection of what I came up with - literally using up scraps of DSP and bits and bobs from my useful box! ....ie my desktop!  If you would like to join in with this fortnight's challenge all you need to do is create card using all the colours in the INKspiration photo below. Ask to be added to the Colour INKspiration Facebook group. Take a photo of your creation  Upload it to the page. If you have a blog you can upload your link, but if you don't have one that's OK , the idea is for all of us to share our ideas. It's a great challenge. thanks for looking, I'll be looking for your upload! Liz ...
