Stylish Star Christmas Card Class

This weeks Christmas Card Class design. The Stylish Star image is heat embossed inWhite onto Island Indigo Cardstock. The Smoky Slate base has been sponged with Island Indigo and mounted up on dimensionals. I love the Indigo Chevron ribbon in teh bow but have also designed a flatter option for postage. We'll be making 10 cards in 2 different designs- my only dilemma is choosing which will be the second design! Thanks for looking Liz

  1. I really love this card Liz & would like to recreate it myself! What stamp set was used for the star & what size star punch is that? What technique did you use to create the gorgeous muted blues on your white/vanilla cardstock? Thanks for your help & thanks for sharing!!!

  2. HI Christina, thanks for your lovely comments. The Stamp is a retired one which was called Stylish Star and was sold in a short campaign. The image is the same size as the large stars in the "Simply Stars" set (#130889 page 124 of the SU Catalogue). I punched the star out with the retired large star punch (can't believe SU discontinued this fabulous tool- need something more than flowers and circles too!! anyway...). But if you don't have the star punch it is easy enough to cut out with paper snips as they are just straight lines. The card stock is smoky slate cut to 8.5cm x12 cm, and i simply used a sponge and the Island Indigo ink and sponged in a circular motion from the outside in. Hope that helps - any questions just message me, cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car
