CTC#41 Everyday section - so much to choose from

Spoilt for choice for inspiration this week! Welcome to the bloghop for CASEing the Catty - using the EVERYDAY section of the catalogue for inspiration.

You will have arrived here from the fabulous Rebecca, I know you will have seen some amazing inspiration so for, and you can go right around the circle if this is your first stop .

For my inspiration I used the white grateful card on page 87. I used the beautiful leaf image from  World of Dreams to cover the lefthand flap of the card and then fussy cut around the edges. I do love the Brick Wall embossing folder. To make the small white flowers stand out I punched them out of Shimmery White card with the Itty Bitty Accents flower punch. The sentiment is one of the handy ones from All Boxed Up.


I used the fine metallic silver thread as a highlight and some silver rhinestones. ( the silver peg is only to hold it closed for the photo)

Of course I couldn't stop at one colour! So I tried the Summer Silhouettes leaf image in Mossy Meadow. This is a favourite image which I have fussy cut many times. I used the little dandelion in Silver (or Pewter?) heat embossing powder on the Kraft cardstock to tie in with the Natural Chevron Ribbon. The Best Wishes sentiment is from Petite Pairs.




NOT everyone likes fussy cutting the edges(even me!) - and it is not ideal for a class, so to make a faster version I have used the Flower Shop image and the Pansy Punch. Then when I glued them onto the cut card edge , I just staggered the distance to give that same variation.
We will be doing this card in my class this weekend - the flowers are variegated using the Babywipe technique. Should be messy and fun and everyone's will be different!


It seemed a bit too white so the Hardwood background and some Gorgeous Grunge splotches seemed ideal.

    Wow - three great cards! So much detail in these cards - the fussy cutting is very effective as the edge of your card but I also love those staggered punched flowers - thanks for sharing lots of ideas and tips.

    Oh my gosh - all three are beautiful!! I love the fussy cut edge look. The vines, leaves and flowers all look so effective against the brick wall texture.

    What lovely cards. The fussy cutting is just fab (I love me a little fussy cutting) and the embossed highlights just make the card so much more beautiful.

GDP #277 a gorgeous colour combination with Pretty Perennials

The Pretty Perennials Stampset is gorgeous to use on its own but the floral dies really do add a little something special. My card this week matches the colour challenge at the Global Design Project. I have stamped directly onto the Oh so Ombre DSP which is a free Sale A Bration item with a qualifying purchase for the rest of this month. I love the tone on tone stamping for added depth. I have gone over the Happy with Wink of Stella but it's not easy to photograph. The teeny heart is a teeny leftover of some retired Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and I have also incorporated other retired embellishments like the library clip and crystal button - I do love to use them up. CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44.
