CTC#155 Gift packaging - one of my favourite things!

Welcome back for CTC#155
I just love gift wrapping.

A little while ago I had a few years away from nursing and worked in a gourmet food and giftware shop. We used to make and wrap loads of hampers and gifts. I learnt a lot from my good friend Deanne, and my favourite thing was wrapping wedding presents.

Stampin' Up! offers so many options for gift wrapping that I just couldn't miss out on this week's challenge.

I have taken inspiration from lots of the packaging samples in the catalogues but my main focus is from page 56 in the Annual Catalogue where they have used the Memories and More cards from the Petal Garden Suite as part of the decoration to the front of a box, with ribbon wrapped twice around and secured with a mini bulldog clip.

I needed a few gifts this week and already had the packs of cards made, so I quickly made up a box from Cardstock , wrapped some ribbon around and pinned on a few cards with some ribbon and mini sequin trim. I sealed the top of the box with the brilliant wide washi from the black and white pack, and made a quick 3x3 card to go with them.

The second in a different colourway, you can see the little  matching gift card up to the right.

Both packs sealed with washi.

Next on the hop this week is the lovely Rebecca

I hope you have fun with your Christmas wtapping this year, and that you find some inspiration in the catalogue.
I can highly recommend the memories and more cards as a great impact piece.

have a creative week, Liz

CTC#86 Everyday is a good day to send a card

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night blogshop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. This week we are using the samples from the Everyday Occasions section (which is a huge section) from pages 66-91. Because this is such a big section we will revisit it in a few weeks.  I have chosen the card on page 71 because I have always been attracted to grids.  I have used the gorgeous new By the Shore Designer Series paper, it has such a lovely fres...

CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44. I don't celebrate Halloween, nor am I usually all that partial to Orange shades, but maybe that's changing! because I really like the designs. The pack has several papers that are specifically...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car...
