CTC #216 SAB Embossed Flowers - I'm in Love

Sunday is CTC day and this week's inspiration is the Second Release Sale a Bration products. They are stunning.
How funny that this week my friend Kelly Kent and I have created almost the same card - not for the first time. She's so talented and I'm quite chuffed to think I might be as clever as Kelly. I love how she has used DSP as her base and I'm going to show you a slight difference using cardstock, but I'm off now to try Kelly's trick.

As a demonstrator we have early access to these items so we can have some samples ready to show you when they become available to earn - which is from now until the end of March. The first two items are level 1 - choose 1 product per every $90 spend, the Painted Seasons Bundle is level 2 - choose 1 per every $180 spend.

I do love the Painted Seasons bundle and there are already some amazing projects out there but I couldn't wait to play with the Country Floral Embossing folder and I know you are going to love it.
In the Brochure which you can see here they show a sample of a card where ink has been applied to the cardstock after embossing. I had to try that. But then I got to playing and came up with a few options.

For the Call Me Clover card I embossed first and then applied the ink using a sponge dauber, but you could apply the ink to the folder first and then emboss for a more defined look, this is a more random look. The word is cut using the Well Written framelits which I am so pleased to have invested in, they are really useful.

My second ( and favourite) version I switched it around and applied Gray Granite ink to the flat surface of the Embossing Folder instead. Using the sponge brayer gives a more even result - you don't want too much ink, and you do need to clean any excess off from any of the flowers before you run it through the bigshot. But I love this effect putting the flowers into the foreground.

All 3 cards use the same layout, vellum and the word. I can't stress enough how much easier it is to use these framelits with the Multipurpose Adhesive sheets. Not only do they make it easy to apply to your project but when you peel away the word almost all of the inside scraps are left adhered to the backing sheet for a no fuss process.
When I use vellum I prefer not to use adhesive so these strips are simple wrapped around the card and adhered at the back, then I wrap and tie a ribbon to keep it close to the base card. Easy peasy.
And for my third sample I couldn't resist trying a full foil sheet - what an instant impact that makes. It needed something matt to break up all that shimmer so I found a little leaf spray in my useful box of bits and pieces and I love the green and pink together. This is a really quick card to make.

With the second release there are also some new products which you can purchase outright rather than earn. I think you'll agree that they are very clever at coordinating products. If you are interested in any of these just click on the image to see more detail, or get in touch with me.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. #Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
