CTC#235, CASEing the layout on p159

Welcome back for week #235!
I'm struggling to fit everything in at the moment but I do love a layout challenge, so I couldn't let this go by without jumping in.
This great layout is open to lots of different results I can't wait to see what the rest of the design team have come up with, and I'd love to see your take on it too so be sure and add a photo of your card to our facebook page.

I missed out on playing with the colours from the gorgeous Pressed Petals DSP last week and I've been itching to use my new Very Versailles stamp set, so this is what I came up with- of course I couldn't stop at one card!!

I didn't want to try lining up the cross stitch element is a straight line so I used some of the edge pieces from the laser cut paper instead. I embossed the centre panels with the Subtle EF for more effect and stability and I love how they turned out. AND I'm really glad I bought the mini library clips- they are super cute and you can just tie the thread around the clip instead of worrying how to attach it to the paper.

The Merry Merlot version just needed a little extra flower for balance and I'm quite happy with that. The layout is just a launchpad for you to create your own design. So have some fun with it.

Next on the hop this week is Tina be sure and hop all the way around and then once you've created a card using this same layout share it with us on our Facebook page.

thanks for stopping by this week.
I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

  1. Both cards are beautiful. I love your take on the sketch. Very Versailles wasn’t a stamp set that I noticed straight away but the more I see it, the more I like it. I think it is now definitely on my list.

  5. Both lovely cards, Liz. I love your take on the layout of the original. I especially love the way the little clip on the first card looks like its holding the bunch of leaves at the top. That's a pretty stamp and you've used it beautifully.

  6. A lovely pair of cards, Liz. Love the leafy one where it looks like the bunch of leaves is held by the clip.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
