CTC#248 switching up a layout for Christmas

Here we are again for another round and this week we are taking a layout from the annual catalogue and recreating it with Christmas products.

I wasn't sure about the Toile Tidings paper although I do love the colours, but it looks very different once it is made up into projects, and I quite like the simplicity of monotone projects.
The Northern European snowy woods images don't really match our drought stricken region but I do love the page covered with leaves and berries, so I made a card using a layout that was capable of showing off the gorgeous print.

I have CASEd the layout from page 86 and rotated it to landscape. Instead of stamping the plain card layer I used the piece of DSP.
My Christmas Card class yesterday - "creative relief#2" raising money for drought relief - focused on projects using the Pine Tree Punch and the Delightful Tag Topper Punch.
This was one of the samples showing how versatile the tag punch is to create labels as well as tags. Having holes on both ends is the perfect opportunity to use ribbon to wrap around the base.
The little timber heart is retired but suited it perfectly and matched the layout.
The stamp set has a bright large font, although I confess I did cut the "in the New Year" from the bottom of the stamp. I can easily place it on the block if I want the sentiment but I liked if better plain. The inside uses the "from our home to yours" stamp from the same set. It's a great set to use when you want the paper to be the star of the show.
I also made the reverse green  in an alternate layout and it looks quite different.

It's good to use the catalogue for inspiration all year around.
Share your creations with us on our Facebook Group.

Next this week is the very creative Julia

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
