Social Stamping this week's theme- Sympathy

Welcome to this week's Kelly's Social Stamping blog where the theme is Sympathy.
Never easy cards to make, but important ones to give and send.
I generally opt for neutral themes and tones and have used a the Forever Fern set (again) with some simple embossing.



The sentiment is a retired one but I love the simplicity and clean lines and really, minimal words are all you need. 
I have also embossed the envelope for this card and love the effect.

In so many occasions in life it is the power of connection that supports each of us, so Sympathy cards certainly have their place in our world. Being able to create a card that allows for connection to another who is suffering is a precious thing. Those small acts of giving keep us together on this journey. I'm not sure if you feel the same.

    I love your card Liz. Its simplicity with the Forever Fern leaves on the embossed white is gorgeous. Also love the embossing on the envelope. Your words are so true. We do need connection and more so when we are grieving. A card is a beautiful way to share your heart with someone, while giving them the space they need. xxx

    I love how you’ve kept lots of white with the embossing and just small bits of colour. Perfect for a sympathy card to show you care.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44.
