Bay Window Card using Celebratory Sips DSP and Charming Day Bundle, updated measurement

Painting the flowers using a blend of inks was quick and easy, Add a coat of Wink of Stella and it's done. I created this card for a swap using all current products. I've done many Bay Window Cards over the years but thought I would update the instructions for the sake of simplicity. It's an easy and fun card to make. This is a mix of metric and imperial cutting instructions. You can get two cards from one sheet of A4 cardstock - in Australian sizes just cut the A4 into two 10.5cm x 29.8cm  If you are cutting from 12 x 12 (and in this instance I used Two Tone Cardstock which is all 12 x 12) Cut to 4 1/4 x 11 3/4  Scoring measurements are the same for each : Score at 3/8", 2", 3 7/8", 5 1/2", 5 7/8" Two Tone cardstock is not as rigid as regular card so use Thick Basic White for the sentiment mat inside. Cut one at 4 x 4". This adds stability. DSP cut two strips 4' x 1/4" for the narrow edges which frame the piece. DSP use one sheet 6 x ...

CI#192 A tough colour combination but a fun project.

Well this certainly was a challenge to bring all these colours together, but in the end I enjoyed playing with this palette. I watercoloured a panel of Fluid 100 paper and then diecut various leaves and flowers using the gorgeous new Charming Floral dies. I knew I would need lots of white space to make this work for me. After trying a few different embossing folders for the background I decided the Damask folder was the prettiest- matching delicate with delicate. Picture credit -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6ErpUvGYl0   We are so happy to have   Jenny Engelke as our  Guest Designer this challenge. As always it's amazing to see what different projects are created using the same colours, and this was a tough task. Make sure you pop around and see what everyone has created on our Facebook page. You can join the challenge too, just by posting a photo to the group. and since I had cut several pieces I created a few options. INKspired to join the challenge? It'...

Colour INKspiration #191 Celebratory Sips - letting the DSP do the work when time and materials are tight.

Welcome to our guest designer for this challenge Kisha Cook. It's so fun to have  a new guest designer each round. This could be you if your design is the chosen pick from one of our Challenges.  I so look forward to seeing what everyone has made and how they have interpreted the colour palette. The colours this week are very strong colours, but I have tried to soften them a little. We are still in the throes on renovation (pleased to say it is coming to an end) so I have opted for a very simple approach using the fabulous Celebratory Sips designer series paper to do all the heavy lifting for my card this week. I fussy cut two of the celebratory glasses and did some simple stamping of the lime, the sprig and berry and the sentiments. I die cut the berry spray from some retired Glimmer paper. I can't locate my heat gun so couldn't emboss the sentiments as planned, but I could find the blending brushes so added some Berry Burst colour to the pre printed emboss resist DSP for ...

Four Panel Accordion Fold using Thoughful Journey for Card Class June 2025, Tons of samples

Fancy Folds are a bit of a thing for me and we made these at class this week. Everyone's card was slightly different, using different papers. The main thing is to get the patterned paper pieces lined up with the image flowing seamlessly across the page. This way the colours will flow nicely when the card is closed.  The directions are available from my post on 06.06.25 There are no instructions on this page, just lots of samples and different ideas using the same layout and different papers. As you can see there are lots of different looks from the same layout. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you give this card a try. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz

CI#189 Flowers to celebrate some New Colours

Welcome back for CI#189. The inspiration pic  for this week's challenge is just gorgeous. I love Gum flowers, and my Mum has one of these amazing flowering gums in her back garden. Our guest designer this week is Petra Noeth, we welcome her beautiful project.  Do be sure to check out all the inspiration projects on our Facebook Page from the design team.  Our picture credit this week is  https://www.tobiashayashi.com/blog/tag/eucalyptus+macrocarpa  I made a card and matching little gift box. I am trying (very hard) to embrace Darling Duckling so have used that as the focal flowers for my project this week. They are simply cut from the DSP and then layered up in a bouquet. I have gone around the cut edges with the Darling Duckling Stamp n'Write marker to give some added definition and remove the white which shows from the cut edge. The leaf sprays are also fussy cut from the DSP. I have only a hint of Melon Mambo in the card base and then all the flower cen...

Square card with diamond fold using DSP for Card Class June 25, Impressions Abloom and Greetings for All make it super easy.

I recently posted a simple design for a card that uses more DSP than cardstock. The original design uses half a sheet of 12x12 and you can find the instructions and measurements on this post  from May 16th. It also contains the smaller measurements whih we made at class.  ( using piece 5 x 10"). I was able to source some square envelopes ( 14x14cm) which will fit this size card. Black and white work so well with a pop of a strong colour and I love these Strawberry Slush and Shy Shamrock versions. The smaller white square for the card front has been embossed so that the texture allows the white feature flower to stand out. I don't usually do black leaves but I love the effect here. The stitched flowers are from the Impressions Abloom dies and are quite a feature. These cards came together very quickly using sentiments pressed out from the pre printed sheets "Greetings for All" . The layout is the same but the different colours produce quite different looks. The only...
