CI#184 Bright Primary colours and a New Stampset - Botanical Textures

Hello there - I'm back from a very busy - hectic - few months as our eldest son got married, we have both entered retirement, and we have commenced major renovations at home requiring a full pack up and shift!! Whew. All great but all exhausting, so it has been something of a treat to be able to spend some time this weekend crafting! ( Also it's raining so much over Qld that I can legitimately stay inside - YAY ).

Here's the INKspiration picture for this week - how clever is AI to generate images with the perfect colours. Picture credit https://www.canva.com/ai-image-generator/

My craft room is largely disassembled, but I've snuck in and found a few things to play with, including a NEW stampset which I found in the online exclusives.

165548   TEXTURED NOTES CLING STAMP SET (ENGLISH)  $41.00

For my first play I experimented with using each image with a single colour and stamping in rows or blocks to add the texture in focus. I fussy cut the large leaf image, and then needed a little more detail to fill in the composition. I used another product which hasn't seen much action yet - the Linked Together Dies for the trellis , leaves and flowers.

Botanical Textures comes as part of a bundle with a selection of dies - all rectangles with different textured edges - some neutral toned Patterned 12 x 12 Paper, some ribbon, neutral coloured bling and a corrugated Embossing Folder.

At this point I only purchased the stampset and I love it.
It is perfect for doing collage stamping. You  can't really go wrong with collage.
It's an easy way to add interest to the inside of the card and the envelope.
The Poppy Parade card base is quite vibrant, so I thought I'd have a play creating something more Clean and Simple. This one you can class as Quick and Easy.
I was equally happy with how this turned out - which one do you like the best?

The little tag is from one of the Ephemera packs and was just the right size for the sentiment. It is nice to create with just Stamps, Ink and Paper. The text is Mossy Meadow, The leaves and sentiment are Garden Green, then I clean the stamp with the blending brush and just add a bit of colour to the tag. Daffodil for the cane basket, Azure for the straight woven section and Poppy Parade for the butterfly.

and of course for the inside a little pop of colour.

You can order the stampset and see the other products, or just stock up on your essentials in my online store.

Visit the Facebook page  "Colour INkspiration Challenges" to see all the fabulous samples by the rest of the design team and have a play with these colours and share your sample with us - we love to see what you can come up with. You can use all the mentioned colours  - or ones close to them, as well as black, white, neutrals and metallics.
I hope you have a creative week and remember,

"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. Funky Folds Blog Hop= a Bay window card using Country Flowers

Well it's been a very long time since I participated in a blog hop - and it feels good to be participating in a FUNKY FOLDS hop. You may have come from Jan McQueen's creation, or you may be starting here. Be sure and hop all the way around. I do love Fancy Fold cards and of course with a new catalogue and new products it is fun to be creating again. I have a big weekend retreat coming up in a few weeks and we are using the Country Flowers Stamp set so I am creating a swag of samples. Since time is such a precious commodity for all of us I am using some old favourite folds with new products - a whole new lease on life. For this week's hop I am revisiting the Bay Window Card. The front tri-panel piece bends forward and tucks in behind the little anchor which is fixed to the inside. Your card will stand up unaided. This is it with the edge tucked under the anchor. You can find the measurements and instructions and several previous samples on these pages. Today's card featu...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
