CI#13 Did I mention Green is my fave?

Welcome back to another week of colourful inspiration. This week Bronwyn has selected another gorgeous inspiration pic, and this time it has green in it!! I have found some of the challenges...well....challenging because there hasn't been any green in many of them. It has been a revelation to me as to how often I reach for it. Do you have a go-to colour?? I am still struggling to use Lemon-Lime Twist but it worked beautifully in a watercolour wash together with Wild Wasabi on some shimmer paper. I then dropped clean water from my aquapainter and let it spread the colour around which gave me a few patches of quite pale colour.  On a second panel I did some more mixed green watercolouring and then stamped some text over the colour while it was still damp using the border stamps from  Background Bits. When that piece was dry I used it to die cut some leaves.(I like the detail of the leaves from Falling Flowers rather than the solid shape from Swirly Birds for t...

CTC#136 Grateful for so many things!

Welcome back to a new week - and a big welcome to some new design team members. It's great to have some very talented new card makers on the CTC team. Congratulations to them all, they each contributed over the month of June on our Facebook page. You're going to enjoy seeing their creations as we go forward this year. Be sure and leave some comments on their posts or on our Facebook page to welcome them.  We also have a few Guest Designer spots coming up too. Such a wealth of talent all around us. So I have gone with the quick and easy layouts on the far left of page 131. I also wanted to do a stepped up version showing you that you don;t necessarily need a Bigshot to create more ...

CTC#135 A message that never gets old!

Welcome back for CTC#135 which focuses on the Holiday section of the catalogue. I know I should think about getting ready but I just can't do the whole Christmas in July thing! However, I did like a few layouts in this section and have gone with a simple layout - which is in the banner picture this week - and a brand new set which has been on my wishlist since I first saw it in the catalogue. That cute little pink border is from one edge of the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch . I love that you can use either the lacy looking edge or this more simple small scallop. If you are tossing up between the ticket edge punch then this one might be an alternative because it gives you 2 options for quite different looks. I love versatility. Thankyou Stampin' Up! I just love the 3 pinecones stamped beside each other, with a simple banner sentiment and a bit of string, super sweet. (page 121) And using any cute image you'll have a great quick card to send. All the ima...
