Markets and Gift Packs

This weekend saw me at two markets - the Luna Markets on the riverbank in Rockhampton and the annual Rotray Club Biloela Art and Craft Fair. It was a busy weekend but I had lots of fun. Thankyou to all the new people who stopped by and checked out my stall.

At Biloela
"Don't post online- put some real paper in the post" "Snail mail is so nice to receive"

Since it is leading up to Christmas I had lots of gift packs -for 3x3 cards, notecards and larger cards as well as plenty of art journals.

Paper pouches for a set of 4 3x3 notecards and envelopes
cut at 6 x 10,
score at (portrait) 1 1/4 and 4 3/4 , Score at (landscape) 4 1/2 and 5 1/2
contrast binding strips 1 1/2" (or whatever scarps you have) score in half

Paper pouches for Notecard size
cut at 7 1/2 x 12,
score at (portrait) 1 3/4 and 5 3/4 , Score at (landscape) 5 1/2 and 6 1/2
Kraft flap cut 6 x 4, score at (landscape) 3 and 3 3/4 or 3 1/2 depending on how bulky the cards are.
secure with velcro dot.

On Rachel's photo tutorial she scores it at 1 7/8" and then folds this in, and then brings the other side in to meet the fold in the middle, and landscape she scores at 5/5/8" from each end.

I have made this design before  which you may remember from the CASEing the Catty Gift wrap and packaging entry #CTC40

There is a link to a video tutorial on that page (click on the picture above) or there is a much older instruction at Stampyourartout

thanks for looking,

Liz

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car...

CTC#86 Everyday is a good day to send a card

Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Sunday night blogshop where we use a section of the Catalogue to inspire this weeks projects. Designers can take a layout, a colour combination, or any element as the starting point to create something new. We invite you to tour around the hop and to join in -after all the Catalogue has so many beautiful samples to inspire us all. If you get lost you'll find the full crew here . You may have arrived from Simone , so welcome. And this week we are really excited to welcome 3 new designers to the team, Krissy, Deb and Kelly  please do leave them a comment and welcome. This week we are using the samples from the Everyday Occasions section (which is a huge section) from pages 66-91. Because this is such a big section we will revisit it in a few weeks.  I have chosen the card on page 71 because I have always been attracted to grids.  I have used the gorgeous new By the Shore Designer Series paper, it has such a lovely fres...
