CTC#154 - CASEing a colouring project



welcome back - what a brilliant weekend. Many of us have been at Stampin' Up!'s amazing event for some inspiration and to get some education and a look at the new products and promotions which are coming. It's always an amazing opportunity to catch up with fellow crafters who are just as passionate about paper crafting and creativity. I love the feeling of friendship and inclusion that such an occasion brings.
Typically attendees make samples and swap them as a way of sharing ideas and making connections. I ran out of time to make any swaps this year but I did make a few little thankyou cards which I would have used if I'd had enough time to make a few more.

I have CASEd the little girl card in the top right of this picture and had some fun using the Colour Me Happy set and the new Stampin Blends alcohol markers. They are so easy to use - even for a person like me who doesn't colour very much.

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
