CI#26 beautiful marine colours

Welcome to the second Colour INKspiration bloghop for 2018. School is back and the pace is about to ramp up again.... which is why making time to be creative is so important. I'd be lost without my craft time, and I am truly grateful I get the opportunity. (Thankyou to my very tolerant and generous husband).  If I can combine creativity with a job on my to do list so much the better. It's one of my sister's birthdays this week and she loves cards that move. So making this card for her was a perfect opportunity to combine tasks. Her beautiful cards are very intricate with lots of interlocking movable pieces, but my style is quite different. So while they are gorgeous marine colours this week I have stuck with flowers for now. I won this set at Onstage which was great because it would not have been at the top of my wishlist, but I have to say I am loving the Cake Soiree set much more than I anticipated.




I have watercoloured a panel of shimmery white cardstock and adhered that to my cardbase. Then I have scored a sheet of acetate and adhered the small flap on the rear of the card so that the front "window" is free standing, and I have adhered my bouquet of flowers directly onto the acetate.

As well as the embossed flowers and diecut leaves from the Sweet Soiree set I have added some of the silver and vellum elements from the Coordinating embellishment kit. (There's so much in that kit there are loads of inspirational projects using it in this week's CASEing the Catty bloghop).


If you were to put a sheet of white card behind the acetate this is what you would see.


When you lift the acetate there's a little bit more detail!




Some of the watercolour DSP this year is pale enough that I like to write directly on the coloured paper rather than white again. You can see the inside of Cate's card is a bit of fun.


Next on the hop this week is ROSE I can't wait to see how she has used these colours
It's such a pretty colour palette there are some gorgeous cards and projects to see on this weeks hop.

GDP #277 a gorgeous colour combination with Pretty Perennials

The Pretty Perennials Stampset is gorgeous to use on its own but the floral dies really do add a little something special. My card this week matches the colour challenge at the Global Design Project. New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44.
