Foiln Frenzy Tip for JAI#393 and GDP#122

Hi there, today I wanted to share a quick tip with using the Foil Frenzy Specialty DSP(144125). This is a heavy weigth kraft card with foil designs printed on the paper - random spots, stripes and a chevron pattern. You get 4 colours in the pack - Lemon Lime Twist, Berry Burst, Tangerine Tango and Soft Sky. I love the kraft card but did you know you can sponge and stamp on the card to change the kraft colour? too easy and such a great effect.

I am not a huge fan of Lemon Lime Twist (I know, I'm in a minority) but I wanted to participate in the Just Add Ink challenge and my friend Lou Kitzelman on the design team commented on one of my other posts that she hoped I would come to love this colour so I have given it another shot!!  I don't love it on its own but it is quite gorgeous combined with Tranquil Tide, so I have watercoloured a strip using both, and stamped the leaves from Painted Harvest using both and then I took a strip of the Foil DSP and whacked the inkpad down to add a heavy layer of tranquil tide. once you wipe away the excess you have the benefit of the resist technique and the ink changes only the kraft card.
I love the sketch layout from Global Design Project so that was a good direction to follow to construct this card.

You can see the effect more clearly on this sample strip where the ink starts and finishes.

It's a bit hard to get the effect in a photo so here's a different angle.

Since I was covered in ink - and I need a few birthday cards I made another card to show you how stunning it is.

Here's the shiny foil from a different angle.

Thanks for stopping by today, if you want some foil DSP for yourself I can recommend it. You can find it in my online store using the images below.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

  4. These are both gorgeous cards Liz. I love your water coloured panel on the first card and all the details you've added to add depth and texture. And your colouring of the Kraft card stock really is so clever and makes a perfect background to the dots on your balloon card too. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week.

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
