CI#29 Bridal Beauty Colours

Welcome back for another bloghop using this fortnight's Colour INKspiration colour combination. I could have seriously made quite a few different projects using this gorgeous set of colours. The inspriation picture with all those gorgeous roses and lace is just so feminine.
I have been trying to find some time to use my new Lots to LOVE thinlits for the wee box- and it's honestly the easiest box to put together. I was delighted with how fast it was to create. I included a little set of 4 notecards- 2 say thanks and 2 are plain, and the baker's twine treatment is a little different too.


I ran the front piece of the box - but not the flap, through the wood planks EF and then lightly sponged some Crumb Cake ink over the panel. I love the crumb cake ribbon and it worked well after I discovered that I have actually run out of lace - not even sure how that happens. The little roses are from Swirly Bird, and I snuck in a bit of Early Espresso wiht the text stamping and the sprig in the bouquet - a bit like the photo.
As a nice little link the mini pink roses are from my garden - it's a Cecile Brunner rose bush and they bloom despite my lack of skill. We had one of these bushes in the home where I grew up as they were the flowers on my parent's wedding cake. They bloomed every year for their wedding anniversary and were a regular feature on cakes for their anniversary and my birthday. 



The 4 cards and envelopes fir perfectly in the box. And I have to confess that I bought the Heart Happiness stampset purely for the large heart- it was so worth it, look at all that delicious texture with just one inkpad.

    These are just too too sweet - and yes, that heart is really something special. I love your real flowers too - what a beautiful and truly special flower to have in your garden that means so much. This is a wonderful project (and those swirly bird roses are just scrumptious!)

      Thanks Lou, I love that the roses look after themselves because I'm a hopeless gardener- probably because I spend too much time at my craft desk!!

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
