CI#70 Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to our Big Birthday Bash - can you believe that it's been 3 years since we started creating for this Blog Hop? 11th January 2017

We are each using our favourite colours - it was incredibly difficult to narrow that down to only 3??  Of course I had to include green and blue - but which ones??

Eventually this is my choice, Navy, Lipstick and Shaded Spruce

I had to use some new stamps for this project and I had an enjoyable afternoon playing with the new Layered with Kindness set. I immediately fell in love with the leaf image, but it took me a little longer to find the right way to use the smaller images. It has 3 different sentiments which is useful and coordinates with 2 new punches.
The large label punch is great. You can also use the Timeless Label Punch as I've done on the front. It also pairs nicely with the Delightful Tag Topper behind it as well. I love the versatility of mixing old and new products, thanks Stampin' Up1 for providing us with that!

I created an easel card - one of my favourite birthday options - and used lots of texture with embossing the plate after I had stamped.
To get the right colour ribbon I dyed some of the new narrow white seam binding using the Lipstick inkpad and spritzing. - my fingers are still pink! but I love how soft the ribbon is.
I won't be posting this one so I stitched one of my last crystal buttons on with a little linen thread. I still love buttons on cards even though they aren't hugely practical.
You can find all the products I used here

for the inside message I used a sentiment from one of the new Sale a Bration sets -Sending You Thoughts- which is a great font, and I layered it on 2 labels - navy on navy and navy on white.
Some random stamping on a strip of white with "stamped off" spruce leaves created just enough colour to dress up the inside and create the stopper to hold the easel open.

The distinktive style of the leaf and the little blossom is lovely.
I hope you find lots of inspiration  in this special January challenge. It is open for the whole month of January and you are welcome to enter as many times as you like, using your 3 favourite colours

OR  any of the colour selections of the design team members - or all of them!!
There's a few combinations that I think I'd like to use too.

You'll find them all in the file on the Facebook group page here.

Next on the hop is Rachel with a gorgeous tropical card.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. #Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
