Today is Australia Day. I consider myself so blessed to have the luxury of calling myself an Australian citizen and despite the controversy around the date, and acknowledging that we have terrible events in our history, I cannot think of a more unique and wonderful place to live. It's a harsh and beautiful land, filled with amazing and diverse people.

It's been nice to have some time to relax and I was able to complete this card for a few challenges. For both Freshly Made Sketches challenge #419, and the colours from Inspire.Create Challenges#061
It's been so long since I used Early Espresso, I had forgotten how nice it can be. I had few old sheets of DSP, and I think I've never used them because they were brown and white - so I used my sponge brayer and inked all over them with flirty Flamingo to make pink and brown paper. What a difference, Now I can see what to do with them!
When I first stamped using the poppy background image from Peaceful Poppies I loved the texture it laid down, and I had fun creating a solid background panel by stamping repeatedly, overlapping slightly and rotating the direction of the stamp in a random pattern.
I also created a panel the same way using the Pretty Peacock before stamping the leaf line images over that. The poppies are white heat embossed, as is the sentiment, and die-cut.
I love how it turned out.
Not being any good at throwing away the leftovers I was able to make up a second card using a similar angled layout. I love this one too.
Don't you love it when a stamp set turns out to have multiple applications? What stamps have you found this with?
