Social Stamping- a travelling we will go

Welcome back to Social Stamping with the theme of "Travel"
As with all of Kelly's themes during Social Distancing there are many ways you can look at these themes.
We were supposed to have a holiday in NZ at Easter but that was cancelled. Our son lives in Sydney and we were supposed to go and travel to see him but that is also cancelled for now.
but.....On the up side travel is now allowed within Qld so it seems we have a lot of family looking forward to travelling out of the South East Corner and heading up to Rockhampton to visit us in the next few weeks. I'm so excited to have them come home. So my card this week is about family and road trips......
I'm certain we will go to the beach at Emu Park and Yeppoon, if we can we may get over to Keppel Island.  These are my thankyou cards I'll have ready to post to them once they are home again- now that I have discovered you can post the shaker cards in our Acetate Boxes ( as a medium letter for 2 stamps instead of 1) I am making a bunch of jar cards to have on hand.
(thankyou Kelly I am not usually this organised!)
As you may be able to tell I have a bit of a thing for the jar punch at the moment.
The shells are from the set- OI'm really glad it is has continued. The nice thing is they are large enough that they won't flip over as you shake them around so you don't need to worry that they are only coloured on one side. I painted these with Petal Pink and Merry Merlot and a touch of Soft Suede. The mat is watercolour paper painted with Coastal Cabana.
I have lots of beads and sparkly bits and some "decor sand" I found in the craft cupboard- seemed appropriate to pop in. I used to have a big jar of real shells but I may have to refill that next weekend so I can make more of these.

I don't mind that we can't travel yet- especially if my family all travel and come to me- makes a nice change!!  I am filled with gratitude.

I hope your travel dreams have not been crushed by Covid and that you have found a new way around.
I look forward to seeing how others have interpreted the theme this week. Do be sure and hop all the way around - travel from your armchair like me... You can see the complete list of participants at Kelly's blog
Next this week is Chantell

You can see all the products I used here, and you can purchase any of these items in my Online Store so you can create these cards too.

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz

  5. Love your "sea shells in a jar" cards Elizabeth. Your coming guests will be delighted to receive them when they arrive back home. Great idea to combine your shells with beads/sequins. Thanks for letting us know that Australia Post will still handle cards with the jar shaker. The stamp set, punch and jar domes are on their way to me. You have inspired me to play with them as soon as they arrive. hopefully it won't be too long before you get to travel. x

  7. I think there are probably many people who's travel plans have been disrupted due to Covid - but it is wonderful that we are starting to be able to get out and about again.
I love your shaker cards - great beachy theme, with perfectly coloured shells.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
