Hello and welcome to the Merry & Bright Social Stamping blog hop with Kelly.

It's been such a crazy year I thought I would share some Christmas Cards created with a bright and crazy colour scheme to bring some cheer!

These are some cards I made as samples for my Christmas Card Class to show some alternative ways to use the Merry and Bright Stamp set which was included as part of the kit for the class.

Some of the designs are CASED directly from Pinterest and you may have seen them around. They include a few different techniques.


For the Magenta card I have applied the ink using a dauber directly to the stamp before stamping. By using the Stamparatus you can add more layers of ink to increase the intensity.
To create the layered circles behind you need to cut 2 circles of each colour ( in 2 different sizes- pair the largest and smallest circles together, and then pair the 2 sizes in between)and you will end up with 2 card layouts. 
In this layout the semi-circle layers are beside each other.


But in this layout the 2 semicircle sections are on lined up together.


This is a CASE of Martin Stone using the old Little Letters thinlits. 
I have run the MERRY letters through an embossing folder before adding to the card.
My colour palette is Gorgeous Grape, Balmy Blue, Just Jade, Mango Melody and Magenta Madness.


And the final card uses some tone on tone stamping and some leftover strips of card . I love this technique for using up paper scraps and I do it quite often. I love the piece of flocked vellum behind, and the tree is stamped in Crumb Cake. I also love that there is no sentiment on this card.


So that's my offering to brighten up a non traditional year with some non traditional colours.

    I normally lean towards traditional Christmas cards but these modern, non-traditional cards are stunning. I absolutely love how you’ve sponged the different colours on the word bright on the magenta card. They all look great!

CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life. I have purchased two packs - the Happy Haunting pack on page 47, which I was inspired to get purely from the background piece on the Lighthearted Leaves card on page 44. GDP #277 a gorgeous colour combination with Pretty Perennials

The Pretty Perennials Stampset is gorgeous to use on its own but the floral dies really do add a little something special. My card this week matches the colour challenge at the Global Design Project. I have stamped directly onto the Oh so Ombre DSP which is a free Sale A Bration item with a qualifying purchase for the rest of this month. I love the tone on tone stamping for added depth. I have gone over the Happy with Wink of Stella but it's not easy to photograph. The teeny heart is a teeny leftover of some retired Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and I have also incorporated other retired embellishments like the library clip and crystal button - I do love to use them up.
