Partial Die Cut Window technique to create a Blueberry Bushel Heart

Partial Die Cutting is a very effective technique and the effect looks much more complicated than it really is. I had a request for a tutorial so I made a second version and took lots of photos. When the card is closed it can look like the large heart is on the front of the card. The window appears when you open it. 1.Cut blueberry cardstock to 21 cm x 14.7cm and score and 10.5cm. Place the framelit on the card front with the majority of the shape on the front but extending over the central score line / fold line .  2. Position the bottom plate as normal but position the top cutting plate with the straight edge along the centre fold line. Hold in place with post-it notes if desired  3. Run this through the Big Shot  4. Emboss the front of the card ( the window frame) using the Subtle Embossing folder if desired.  5. Cut a Whisper White panel 14.7cm x 10 cm. You can trim or decorate one long edge if desired. You also need to cut one mor...

CTC #211 Lovely new romantic papers

welcome back to CASEing the Catty for round #211. Well this is the first set of nested heart dies I've ever owned and I really scored the jackpot with these. Not only are there 4 nested dies in a traditional heart shape, including a scallop border, but there are nested dies in a non traditional shape (I call it a country heart.) There is also a gorgeous detailed border heart and several detailed element pieces. I haven't had much time to play but I have had enough to know that there will be countless possibilities with this set. My first card is loosely inspired by the little notecard on the bottom right of page 6. The framelits cut out the solid heart and the scalloped border at the same time. The framelits also cut out the printed hearts on one of the sheets of DSP. So I put a solid heart inside a white scalloped border. I added some champagne shimmer paint to the sold heart and raised it up a little. I had fun fussy cutting the gorgeous flowers from one of the beaut...

Happy Birthday Piece of Cake for a colour challenge at SIP#181!

I love the Piece of Cake stamp set and had to purchase the bundle after seeing the fab creations of Lou Kitzelman ( A Bow on Top) at Onstage in Brisbane in November. The set has been sitting on my desk waiting for some attention and my first play was lots of fun. I liked the challenge over at Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge and thought I'd start there. My additional colour is Soft Sea Foam. - with a little bit of watercolouring, a little bit of stamping, some metallic thread and my favourite embellishments, the wee candles. The black and white striped paper is retired but there are lots of alternatives in the butterlfy DSP available free in Sale A Bration. I love the splosh dots from the Beauty Abounds set, they are so useful. I'm looking forward to playing with this set more. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Piece Of Cake Photopolymer Bundle ...
