Flourishes for a simple Christmas card for CTC198

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for another week. This week we are using pages 36 - 41 as our inspiration. You can take a layout, a colour scheme or an embellishment as inspiration. I started with a gift bag on page 40 and it took me in 2 different directions.
I LOVED the filigree stamp and punch but I found the gorgeous copper wire embellishments were just a bit big on this as a card- and you really needed 2 which is perfect for gift wrapping but a bit excessive for posting (for me).
So I modified it and used copper punched sprigs instead, and a touch of copper ribbon and some shimmer paint in alcohol as a spritz. A fairly quick card, and nice and shimmery.

You might get a better idea of the shimmer from this angle, although it is very difficult to capture. I used 3 drops of shimmer paint and 3 drops of lovely lipstick and spritzed a white panel which became the base for the sentiment panels. Stamp and punch- my kind of project.

And here's the inspiration picture.
I still wanted to try the copper star on a card so I embossed the wreath onto white, lightly sponged it with a dauber using Call Me Clover, and tied the star on using Fresh Fig twine from the Rooted in Nature suite. A few little pearls and this was done. Very easy but still too bulky to post.
I think I'll work on options for this one for posting.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you would like to try any of the cards in this section you can post your pictures to our Facebook page, we love to see what you create using the same inspiration pictures.
Upload a picture of your project to our Facebook page.

Next on the hop this week is Rachel

and before me this week is Judy

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

  2. Lovely cards, Liz. I love the clean simplicity of the wreath with the wire element. I put a piece of cardstock over embellished cards and they survive in the post without a problem.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are.
