CI#56 Farewell Beautiful Berry

Oh My Goodness what a stunning photo for our inspiration this week. And it was a sad reminder to me that I haven't used Berry Burst as much as I should have. I will be sad to see it go, but then I'm sure I will fall in love with all the new colours instead.

In the meantime I've got stained fingers from playing with the ink for this card.

I was inspired by a card I saw on pinterest.
The technique involves
  • placing drops of ink in the chosen on a piece of gladwrap. I used Berry Burst, Melon Mambo, Blackberry Bliss and the Wow factor with Copper Shimmer Paint.
  • spritz the watercolour paper on both sides
  • use the gladwrap to smoosh the ink around the wet watercolour paper for some amazing effects.
I had enough ink leftover on the gladwrap to colour a few panels and now I have a big stash of coloured bases. Each piece got a little less intense and it was lots of fun.

I used some of the leftover ink to colour a large piece of Shimmery White. Then I could use this to stamp the flowers and cut them out for the accent pieces.

I'm sad that both Floral Frames and Swirly Bird are retiring so it was great to use them for this card. Both sets haven't had enough use but I love them.

While I had the inks out and was experimenting with this technique I tried a second batch using the White Shimmer Paint in place of the Copper. I like them both but thought the flowers worked better embossed in white on this panel.

I hope you get a chance to play with these beautiful colours and can join us in our Facebook group with episode #56.

Next this week is the gorgeous and talented Denita

I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
 post something pretty!"

cheers, Liz

New In colour 2025-2027 cards and the FABULOUS Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape.

Don't you love it when a single product creates enough elements to decorate a bunch of cards at one time? The Extraordinary Flora Washi tape is one of those products. I created these for my upcoming Catalogue Launch. I put the Washi onto Basic Beige to cut these flowers and love how it coordinates with the Basic Beige card base. To create these cards I trimmed 2.5cm from the front edge and adhered a 3.5cm strip of DSP to the inside of the card to give an added layer. These were easy to put together. Darling Duckling Secret Sea Strawberry Slush Timid Tiger Cloud Clover June 3 - 30 Stampin Up has an amazing offer where you can get 50% off any second product from a suite. So for example if you were to purchase the Extraordinary Flora Die you would be able to buy the tape at 50% off. Please reach out if you want more information on this great deal. You can see all the available suites in my online store. I am loving all the new colours.  I hope you have a creative week and remember,...

Colour INKspiration#178 Happy Hibiscus

Happy Hibiscus is a new set in my collection and I needed to get it out and play with it, so this colour combination seemed like a good place to start.  Isn't the Inspiration picture amazing? I wish I was a better gardener and could grow these gorgeous treasures. But since that is not my skill I am happy to admire nature. Picture credit - https://leahhopephotography.client-gallery.com/.../print... I used the watercolour 100 paper and created two pieces of colour, one a range of dark and light Calypso Coral, and one a mix of Soft Sea Foam and Old Olive.  Once dry I was able to cut out the leaves and tiny flowers. I stamped the 3 large flowers over the watercolour and cut them out using the Hybrid Embossing Folder - It's so easy and super effective as it embosses and cuts in one pass creating some amazing depth for the blossoms. I love the leaf shapes and definition in these dies, just gorgeous. Lots of white seemed like a good way to let the colours shine, so a simple embosse...
