January Card Class used the Dainty Delights Bundle for some different cards, including this one which I have called the "Quarter Sheet with Front Flap".
I don't know what this card design is called but I have given it a name so I can find it and the instructions and measurements for future. It's not very imaginative but I think I can find it when I go looking for "that" design!
You can find it too by going to the PAGE marked Fancy Folds at the top of this blog page- I have a list and links to all the fun folds I love to make.
This one uses a Quarter of a sheet of A4 Card as your card base, and a narrow folded flap adhered over a DSP mat layer.
I have used this a lot for Christmas cards in 2022 and find it a great card to show off some pretty paper. I use predominantly metric measurements but this one uses DSP in 4" strips which is an economical way to cut your paper so I have included those measurements here too.
Here's the rest of the measurements:
Card Base 1/4 sheet of A4 = 10.5 x 14.8 cm
DSP Base Layer 10 cm x 14.3 cm ( 4" x 5 5/8" )
Front Folded Flap (same as card base) 21 cm x 8.5cm score at 10.5
DSP Front Flap Layer 10.2 x 8.2 cm ( 4" x 3 1/4" )
Basic White ( mat for inside) 10.2 x 8.2 cm
scraps to decorate/ embellish
Instructions:
Adhere the DSP mat to the card base.
Burnish the score line on the front flap and fold in half.
Adhere the DSP panel to the front of the flap
Decorate the inside mat as desired ( I often use narrow strips of left over DSP to coordinate +/- stamping )
Adhere the mat to the inside
Adhere the folded flap to the card base offset to one side.
Decorate the front of the folded flap with Embellishments/ stamped images / Tags / Tree rings, punched shapes etc etc.
The possibilites are endless and these are just a few of the designs I have made.
As a bonus there is not a lot of space to write so you can quickly pop a lovely message in the post and brighten someone's day.
I hope you have a creative week and remember,
"don't just post online,
post something pretty!"
cheers, Liz
