Christmas Fancy Fold Card - Suspended Book Fun Fold - Wishes All Around



I wanted to use the beautiful Wishes All Around stampset for class and loved the suspended book fold. Most samples are a large 5 x 7" card and I searched for a while until I found one that is able to fit in a C6 envelope. I love this design because the front "book" is the same height as the card base so the card will stand on its own. I hope you give this a try. It was fun to put together.



There is an acetate piece that sits in front of the "book" and can have elements attached so they sit forward and also appear suspended.

This was the second version with a long sentiment and white ribbon.

This set has a beautiful font and a nice uncluttered feel.  I have also made some great wreath cards using the wreath dies and they look great as well.

This is by far the most complicated card I have ever prepared for a class! It is not difficult to put together but it was complicated to prepare as there were so many pieces to cut. However, the effect is fantastic and everyone loved it.

I did use a new stampset and dies paired with some retired DSP and cardstock, but that was where I had the most of a neutral background patterned paper. I am keen to try this in some different papers too.

"Honeybee Home Suspended Book Fun Fold"


It folds nice and flat for posting. You might be able to see here that the folded edge of the acetate strip is flush with the edge of the "book", but the card and DSP covers over the flap and keeps it nice and neat.

GDP #277 a gorgeous colour combination with Pretty Perennials

The Pretty Perennials Stampset is gorgeous to use on its own but the floral dies really do add a little something special. My card this week matches the colour challenge at the Global Design Project. I have stamped directly onto the Oh so Ombre DSP which is a free Sale A Bration item with a qualifying purchase for the rest of this month. I love the tone on tone stamping for added depth. I have gone over the Happy with Wink of Stella but it's not easy to photograph. The teeny heart is a teeny leftover of some retired Blushing Bride Glimmer paper and I have also incorporated other retired embellishments like the library clip and crystal button - I do love to use them up. CTC#48 Who doesn't love new DSP

Welcome back to CASEing the Catty for this round. You may have come from Rachel's beautiful project  or you maybe starting here. There are lots of great posts to visit. This week we are using new Designer Series paper from the Holiday Catalogue - and who doesn't love a pack of new paper? The problem of course is which one to choose.... followed by the problem of actually having to CUT into a pristine pack. ....I know you all know what I mean. I have lots of photos for you today to try and show off some of the designs, but it's not easy to capture and they always look so much better in real life.
