CI#15 Intriguing Eggplant Doorway

WELCOME BACK, it's another round of colourful fantastic creations this week inspired by this amazing doorway. When I first looked at the colour palette I was a little apprehensive, and none of my original ideas came to anything much but I had lots of fun playing with the ink and then it all started to come together. Today my box of new products arrived and I just had to add in a new leaf punch Sneak Peak.

Bermuda Bay is easily one of my favourite colours, and Pool Party is a close second but I'm not normally a purple girl. This is a new technique to me and I had fun playing with it. You first lay down lots of colour using a sponge / sponge dauber and then take your aquapainter or paint brush with clean water and lift the colour off. Once the section is wet and the ink starts to move around you blot off the liquid with a tissue or cloth, rinse the colour from you bristles and then repeat until you have taken off as much colour as you like. The possibilities are endless, the hardest part is waiting for it to dry properly to continue stamping.
The large panel is done is plain Whisper White, but the smaller panel is done on Shimmery White. I didn't have as much success with the watercolour paper but I think I just need to spend some more time playing. ( ie be more patient.......)
The large card I have stamped images from the Butterfly Basics set and another new technique to me (thanks to Simone at CASing the Catty this week) using the Wink of Stella brush and painting on additional colour - in this case the Lemon Lime Twist Ink over the fern leaf. I also added some fine tip glue to the sentiment and the leaves for some added dimension and gloss.

The second card was not initially part of this post but came together quickly this afternoon  - nothing like the 11th hour - I had a small sample piece lying on my desk but when my NEW leaf stamp (Painted Harvest) and matching Leaf Punch arrived  I just had to have a go. The images are beautiful in this photopolymer 2 step stamp, I can't wait to make some more cards with this -and if you love sunflowers your'e going to be super impressed.

For the inside I used the solid leaf image in Lemon Lime and the skeleton leaf image in Pool Party for a soft finish.

Don't be afraid to play with these amazing colours and show us what you create by taking a photo and posting it to our Facebook Page.

Thanks so much for looking today, be sure and hop around all the designers for some more inspiration.
I'll be creating some more samples using this technique and creating a photo tutorial so be sure that you are signed up to receive my new posts - the subscritpion box is just up under the 4th rainbow swirl box on the right sidebar of this page.

Envelope Dies perfect for an Acetate Tent card and some new DSP

After creating yesterday's cards I was on a roll and created this one using the beautiful Gilded Autumn DSP and the Fancy Phrases stamp set.  I really love the sentiments in this set.  It is such a simple design and easy to create. You can find all the directions on yesterday's post for Just Add Ink (JAI#518)  I watercoloured the white leaf after I had adhered the gold veins just to soften it, and I added a strip of mint DSP to the front of one of the tent stands as the white was a bit stark. That's the cool thing about this design, you can change it up plenty of ways. I'm sure we can all send these type of cards at the moment. I hope you are safe and well, and staying connected, wherever you are. I hope you have a creative week and remember,  "don't just post online,  post something pretty!" cheers, Liz Product List Ornamental Envelopes Bundle [ 155168 ] $83.50 Envelopes  Dies [ 153531 ] $63.00 Shimmery White A4 Car

#Onstage Sydney 2022 Fancy Flora Suite , Display Stamping # 1 beginner, casual, avid samples

I'm so honoured to have been asked to present the premier suite "Fancy Flora" from the new Mini Catalogue - what a treat. ( Available January 5 - May 12023 ). This is one of a series of posts showing some of the projects I created using this suite. It's a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy my tips and tricks and first projects. Relieved the presentation is over and with my samples on the board! Firstly I had the pleasure of showing the suite- 2 stampsets, 2 sets of dies, some 6x6 DSP, Shimmer Card, Ribbon and Gems. With every new set I allow myself plenty of time to just play with it and explore the possibilities in colour and layout. In doing this I create a series of Mood boards that make it much faster when I come to use the product to quickly identify how many dies in each set, how many stamps and which ones match the dies, and which ribbons and bling I have in my stash- or in the current catalogues that match the colours of the new suite. That way I don't for
